The holidays are here! We’re sure you’ve got tons of fun holiday parties to go to over the next few weeks … which means you need a plethora of beauty tricks to get you through and keep things looking and feeling fresh. Luckily, the red carpet has some hair and makeup trends that have seriously inspired our holiday beauty routine!

Fergie-Kirsten-Dunst-Red-Lips.jpgPair a red lip with light eyes.
Don’t let your eyes and lips compete for the spotlight. We love both Fergie and Kirsten Dunst here—they each went for a bold, creamy red lip and pale complementary eye makeup. A smoky eye would take away from the drama of the red lip—and with a look like this, you need to be careful not to go over the top.

Jennifer-Love-Hewitt-Smoky-Eyes.jpgSmoky eyes deserve pale lips.
Conversely, you don’t want to have a super dark lip when you go for a dramatic smoky eye. Let the black liner and mascara speak for themselves, as seen here on Jennifer Love Hewitt. The super pale pink lip is such a pretty and feminine contrast to such a standout eye.

Claire-Danes-Blowout.jpgGet a good blowout.
You want your hair to shimmer and shine—it is the holidays, after all! Go for a smooth blowout with a bit of bounce like Claire Danes. There are blowout bars popping up everywhere—our favorite is definitely Drybar, which has locations from California to New York and is opening up new ones fairly regularly.

Jessica-Biel-Red-Nails.jpgDark nails make a statement.
You know what’s expected? Glitter, sparkle and either gold or silver. So why not darken up your nails this season? And yes, red may be a tad on the predictable side … but not when it’s a wine-colored hue with black undertones, as seen here on Jessica Biel.

Whatever you do this season, be sure to have fun. Makeup, hair and nails are an extension of your personality, so be sure to let yourself shine through!
rachel-mcadams-12072011.jpgRachel McAdams has been out of the public eye recently, but she looked as captivatingly beautiful as ever on the red carpet for the ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ movie premiere in Los Angeles. The best part of her makeup was the shimmery shadow at the innermost point of her eye — it made her eyes look bright and almost dewy.

Kiehl's-Creme-De-Corps-Jeff-Koons.jpgIf you’re like us, you love Kiehl’s. Not only are the products from this brand among the best out there, but Kiehl’s is constantly partnering with various organizations to do good for the world. And this holiday season is no different, as Kiehl’s is partnering with American contemporary artist Jeff Koons for its 3rd Annual Limited Edition Creme de Corps Holiday Collection.

Now, here’s the best part. Kiehl’s will donate 100 percent of the worldwide net profits of this collection (up to $200,000) to the Koons Family Institute on International Law and Policy. This is an initiative of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), which combats child sexual exploitation and abduction.

This collection contains the classic body moisturizer ($29-$72) and a new offering for the holiday season, Limited Edition Jeff Koons Bottle Art ($50), a scaled reference to his iconic Balloon Flower sculpture that adorns the Creme de Corps bottle top. The products from this collection are all available at kiehls.com.

And, as a special addition to all the good that Kiehl’s does, they’re inviting you to visit kiehls.com/shareyourhopes through December 26. In 150 words or less, you can share your holiday hope with the Kiehl’s community. One hope a week will be chosen, with the winner receiving a Limited Edition Creme de Corps. Pretty fantastic, right?
up-and-up-eye-makeup-remover.jpgI may not wear a lot of makeup (about the only thing I put on regularly is eye makeup) but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have a proper way of removing it. Every night before bed I put some up & up eye makeup remover (AKA Target brand) on a cotton round and swipe it across my eyes several times to get all the makeup and mascara off. The formula is perfect for removing stubborn eye makeup and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. And best of all because it’s Target brand, it won’t set you back a fortune.

You can find up & up eye makeup remover for $4.54 at Target.com.
Lather-Toning-Eye-Gel-With-Vitamin-K.jpgPuffiness. Dark circles. Wrinkles. Lines. An overall tired appearance. What a nuisance all these issues with our eyes can be, right? Well, kiss those problems goodbye, because Lather Toning Eye Gel with Vitamin K has come to the rescue.

While we’re normally used to using a cream rather than a gel on our under-eye area, this product comes as a welcome surprise. The gel is cooling and refreshing, which is fantastic no matter when we use it! It’s a rejuvenating start to our morning and a calming end to our evening.

And if you’re worried about loss of elasticity and firmness? Well, thanks to niacin and Vitamin K, this gel saves your eyes in a flash. We also love that it’s formulated with extracts of aloe and green tea, which work to soothe and calm red and inflamed skin.

In a nutshell? If you’re looking for a substitute to your everyday eye creams and masks, this gel is the perfect solution.

Lather Toning Eye Gel with Vitamin K retails for $28 at lather.com.
