Crabtree-Evelyn-Lavender-Candle.pngBack in May, we told you about the fabulousness that is the Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Room Spray. Well, if you just can’t get enough of the heady scent, you simply must add the Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Poured Candle to your lavender repertoire.

Like the room spray, the candle is scented with notes of lavender, violet, tonka bean, lemon leaf and soft musk. And like the room spray, the candle brings an absolutely delightful, rich and divine aroma to any room.

What’s different about the candle, then? Well, for starters, it contains natural vegetable waxes, including soy, which we think is pretty cool. It also features a non-toxic and clean-burning cotton wick. But the best part? It has a burn time of 40 hours! That means you can bring the lovely scent of lavender to your home for days on end … which, if you ask us, isn’t such a bad thing.

The Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Poured Candle retails for $30 at crabtree-evelyn.com.
evanrachelpixie_smh.jpgI’ve had the same hairstyle pretty much my entire life: wavy long brown hair. So imagine my jealously when Evan Rachel Wood debuted her adorable (and chic!) new pixie cut at a press event for True Blood this week.

I had a brief encounter days earlier with a J.Crew employee with dark hair like mine who chopped it all off for the summer in a feminine boy cut like Evans… so yeah, pretty jealous.

I’m sure one of these years I’ll chop it all off, but in the meantime do you think it’s cool to change your do so frequently? Besides Evan, we can think of a few other celebs who do the same (Ashlee Simpson, Rachel McAdams). Actors change their look for roles all the time so it’s probably fun to experiment with so many different colors and cuts. But if we’re being honest, Evan has never looked better and should keep her hair like that for the next ten years.
Celebrities-Messy-Bob-Image.jpgLately, it seems a lot of celebrities are bringing summertime ease to their hairstyles. The messy bob has been taking over Hollywood! So many starlets have embraced cool, carefree waves in shorter ‘dos—Brooklyn Decker, Jennifer Aniston, January Jones, Jessica Alba, Dianna Agron … who’s next, we wonder?

We’re loving the simple chicness of a long bob left to its own devices. A little bounce, a little curl, a little wave … a lot sexy! And perfect when you’re at the beach.

What’s best about this look is that it works on a variety of different hair textures and face shapes. No matter what you’re working with, this style can be modified to suit your lifestyle and your hair texture!

What do you think of the messy bob? Is this a look you’ll be trying?
redflower_smh.jpgYou know you do it, but are the free hotel toiletries really worth sneaking into your bag? Thanks to an old cushy day job, I had the… luxury of staying at some nice hotels with even nicer amenities. In this column, I explore the brands different hotels have chosen to partner up with and where the products place on my ‘stuff it in your carry on?’ meter.

The Cooper Square Hotel in New York City has the most amazing Red Flower products (and their bathtubs are pretty luxurious as well). The scent is called Wanderlust and if anyone finds a way to buy them without booking a night at the hotel, please tweet me and let me know because I am addicted to it. Officially, it has hints of aged paper, rare hinoki-wood bark and wild grass, but to me it is undefinable — a sweet, woodsy, feminine-with-a-touch-of-masculine scent that I can’t get enough of.
I’ve stayed there at least 20 nights, so I should have a generous supply of the lotion in my medicine cabinet, but I was always in a hurry and never thought to stuff one in my bag every night. I have one left and it’s almost empty so I squeeze a dab on my fingers and massage it into my neck. I get compliments every time I have it on.

Steal-o’-meter rating: 5 out of 5. Check out their other products at redflower.com and read more about Red Flower’s creator, Yael Alkalay (pictured above) here.

Supernail-Nail-Polish-Thinner.jpgWe have a confession to make. We have a lot of nail polish. (Think over 200 bottles.) But, while we love our collection, unfortunately some of them tend to thicken over time. (We’ve found that this especially happens with our very favorite topcoat, Seche Vite.) Luckily, Supernail Nail Polish Thinner is there to save the day.

So how does it work? Just pour a tiny amount into your nail polish bottle, shake it up, and voila! It’s restored to its original consistency immediately!

We recommend starting out with just a small pour. You can always add more if the polish hasn’t reached its desired consistency. Better to be on the safe side!

Supernail Nail Polish Thinner retails for $3.99 at rickysnyc.com.
