SPF-Beauty-Image.jpgThere are so many products out there formulated with SPF. But how do you find the ones that are absolutely perfect for you? Well, luckily, we’ve culled through the hundreds of SPF products and found the ones that really and truly work. Here are our favorites.

Best drugstore sunscreen
Hands down, our choice for drugstore sunscreen is Neutrogena Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 70. (Yes, you read that number right!) If you want your face to look as young 40 years from now as it does today, this is the sunscreen for you.

Best sunscreen-infused lip balm
Okay, confession time. It was completely impossible to pick just one in this category, so we picked two! It’s a tossup between Fresh Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.50 at and Benefit Benetint Lip Balm SPF 15 ($20 at Each imparts a pretty, just-kissed amount of color upon the lips—totally gorgeous.

Best allover sunscreen stick
From your elbows to your ears, the tops of your feet to the tip of your nose, there’s one product out there that’s great for every place imaginable. And that’s Clinique Sun SPF 45 Targeted Protection Stick. We tested this stick in Hawaii, and even in the hottest sun imaginable, we remained unburned!

Everything Dr. Dennis Gross touches turns to gold … and his All-in-One Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen SPF 15 is no exception. Antioxidants, a hint of tint and, of course, sunscreen, combine to create one pretty powerful product.

chloekat_smh.jpgForget red, gray or whatever your usual nail polish is. The younger set of Hollywood actresses have spoken and the trend for summer 2011 is bright, matte and unexpected. On the left, Chloe Moretz rocks electric lavender nail polish against an otherwise very mature and sophisticated ensemble while on the right, Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham goes for bright yellow (with some embellishments on certain fingers). To pull this look off, don’t match your nails to your wardrobe, but instead pick a bold color you don’t have a lot of in your closet and then play it off against black, navy, complementary colors and contrasting prints.

Burtsbeeslipbalm2.jpgWhile cruising the beauty section of Target the other day, I stumbled upon Burt’s Bees new line of tinted lip balms. With colors like pink blossom, honeysuckle, hibiscus and red dahlia, I had a hard time picking just one. The lip balms come in an eye-catching cardboard tube that turns out to be a total waste of paper, but the product itself is really quite perfect. Unlike their lip shimmers, they don’t have that too-powerful minty smell and they give your lips just the right amount of color. The only negative is that they taste bitter when you smack your lips.

Red-Flower-Japanese-Peony-Cleansing-Body-Wash.jpgWhile many floral-scented body washes and perfumes are way too strong, once in awhile we come across one that’s simply perfect. Such is the case with Red Flower Japanese Peony Cleansing Body Wash.

For starters, the bottle the body wash comes in is beautiful. It features a sweeping floral pattern that just evokes the feeling of being in a Japanese garden.

But it’s the body wash itself that we’ve fallen head over heels for. A blend of peony blossoms, honey, Bulgarian rose, lily of the valley and lemon blossom create a heady, completely unique scent that just permeates our shower and our body without feeling cloying or over the top.

And our skin after using this body wash? So soft and smooth, it’s not to be believed. Wild-crafted botanicals, silk extract, green tea and honey work to moisturize and condition the skin while making it highly absorbent and supple. And yes, this lasts for hours on end!

Every Red Flower product is animal friendly, certified organic and environmentally kind. The bottles are bio-degradable, and the products are free of dyes, parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals and synthetic preservatives. Kind of makes you wonder why you haven’t been using Red Flower all along, doesn’t it?
