Crabtree-&-Evelyn-Lavender-Room-Spray.jpgWant the beautiful scent of spring to waft throughout your home? Then be sure to use Crabtree & Evelyn Room Spray!

This spray is absolutely divine, if we do say so ourselves. A combination of violet, tonka bean, lemon leaf and soft musk blend with the aforementioned lavender to create a scent that’s rich and heady.

We love spritzing this throughout our home on a daily basis. It eliminates all odors, from leftover cooking smells to kitty litter! And, what’s better than a dose of spring inside—no matter what the temperature or weather outside? It just makes us feel like we’re in the midst of a huge field of lavender, which we’re certain is exactly the point.

Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Room Spray retails for $16 at crabtree-evelyn.com.
Blake-Lively-Drew-Barrymore-Red-Hair.jpgThe hot new haircolor? It’s definitely red. Blake Lively and Drew Barrymore are just two of the celebs who’ve debuted fiery new tresses recently—and, we must say, we’re totally loving it!

We’ve long loved red hair, but the new onslaught definitely has us thinking about taking on a bold new hue. If you’re thinking about going red, there are a couple things to keep in mind:

Ted-Gibson-Captivating-Copper-Shampoo.jpg1) Red hair fades FAST! It’s important to use color-safe shampoos and conditioners—or, better yet, use products formulated for red hair, like Ted Gibson Captivating Copper Shampoo ($24.99 at tedgibsonsalon.com).

2) Try to wait a few days in between washes so the color lasts longer.

3) If at all possible, get your color done at a salon. Too many reds gone wrong have ended up as orange! A colorist can help you achieve the shade you want with minimal damage.

So what do you think about the bevy of red-tressed celebs out there as of late?

When we saw the photos of British singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s performance last month at London hotspot G-A-Y, we knew we had to feature her bold makeup. As crazy as acid green glittery liquid eyeshadow sounds, we actually think this look really works.

Sophie’s skin is so flawless, it’s a perfect canvas to do something daring. She’s also pulling the colors directly from her print dress so it’s not so random. Unless you’re a performer, we suggest going with just one of these trends — either a daring eye or a bright lip. And if you are brave enough to go for that eye, back it up with faux lashes that stand up to the bright lids.

We like Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Liner ($18 at sephora.com). The description says it all: “Play it soft by painting on precise, crystalline lines with the top of the thin brush. Or wear it loud by sweeping the side of the brush to create entirely jewel-encrusted eye looks.”
The-Body-Shop-Spa-Wisdom-Africa-Ximenia-Salt-Scrub.jpgNow that spring finally seems to be upon us, it’s imperative that we get our skin to be as soft and smooth as possible. Luckily, we recently came across the amazingness that is The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub.

We love that this oversized tub makes us feel like we’ve been transported to a relaxing spa. Inside is a creamy salt scrub that’s formulated with skin-softening body butters from Africa.

We’ve been using this scrub two to three times a week, especially on our dry and ashy legs and elbows, and it’s amazing how quickly we’ve seen a difference. That’s thanks not only to the salt grains and the body butters, but to Community Trade organic beeswax and shea butter. Ximenia, an oil extracted from the ximenia tree native to Africa, also helps to moisturize and condition the skin.

Plus, with this scrub’s intoxicatingly sensual fragrance, is it any wonder we’ve gone head over heels?

The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub retails for $28 at thebodyshop.com.
h20spa_smh.jpgYou know you do it, but are the free hotel toiletries really worth sneaking into your bag? Thanks to an old cushy day job, I had the… luxury of staying at some nice hotels with even nicer amenities. In this column, I’ll explore the brands different hotels have chosen to partner up with and where the products place on my ‘stuff it in your carry on?’ meter.

Hotel Mela in New York City offers a pretty sweet selection of H2O+ Spa products, including a sea salt body wash (right) that has changed my life. Too bad I was only there for one night.

Steal-o’-meter rating: 4 out of 5. Check out their full product line at H2oplus.com
