At the Hollywood premiere of her new film, Jonah Hex, Megan Fox was spotted rocking some seriously sleek, shiny old Hollywood curls, courtesy of Frédéric Fekkai stylist Renato Campora.

02_megan_fox.jpgTo create the retro style, Campora first applied Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip ($23), and blow-dried Megan’s hair using a round brush. After creating a deep side part, he used a one-inch barrel curing iron and set the curl into pin curls to cool. After about 15 minutes, he took out the pin curls and brushed them out until they were perfectly placed over her dress. Finally, Campora spritzed on Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray ($35) for lasting hold.

0310-lady-gaga-beauy-4-de.jpgA foundation that looks natural, floats on top of the skin, doesn’t crease or flake, and lasts all day long? That’s a pretty tall order.

Enter Face Atelier’s Ultra Foundation Pro. Ultra has been a staple in many top makeup artist’s kits for years, and it’s easy to see why. The result is purely flawless.

Ultra Foundation is  hydrating yet oil-free, and it obscures tiny lines and pores to ensure a smooth finish. The foundation has a built in primer, thanks to the super sophisticated, silicone-based formula.   Another bonus - it sets without powder, preserving the youthful, dewy finish.

The silicone technology in Ultra Foundation forms a lightweight, breathable second skin that is both moisture and oil resistant.  It’s non-comedogenic and wont clog pores or collect in creases.

When we tried it, skin instantly has a flawless, airbrushed effect — no effort required. The foundation really allows skin to show through while still concealing every imperfection. For the best effect, apply with a damp sponge (like the BeautyBlender). We couldn’t believe our eyes… baby skin, even, smooth, gorgeous. Definitely worth the hype.

The “pro” version is just a more convenient size of the same popular Ultra Foundation…perfect for your makeup kit, cosmetic bag, or for travel!

stylebakerybeauty:images:philosophy:boostercaps.jpg For a long time I was afraid to get on the Retinol train because I thought it would be too harsh for my skin, but it’s definitely one of those ingredients that skincare experts agree plays a role in anti-aging. So I finally took the plunge and have added a Retinol product into my skin-care routine. Right now, I’m using philosophy booster caps. It took me a little bit to figure out how frequent to use, but I really am liking the results. I use once a week—I’m incorporating this in with my regular exfoliating products and face masks too; it’s a whole process—and I’m noticing a difference with regular use.

Available at Sephora (60 capsules for $50).
avon.jpgAvon Inc. plans to grow its hair care business by increasing focus on premium hair care, including the introduction of a revolutionary new frizz fighting product. The direct seller will usher in the strategy this summer with a new patent-pending technology designed to smooth frizz similar to a salon treatment.

The technology is housed in the upcoming product called Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield. The treatment’s technology is designed to mimic the lotus leaf, which lives in water but has a surface structure that repels droplets of moisture. The humidity-fighting technology comprises smoothing silicone and microparticles. After one week of use, Lotus Shield was found — in various testing conditions, including rainforest-level humidity of up to 95 percent — to last for three days, even after hair washing.

Beginning in July, Lotus Shield will sell for $12 and its launch will coincide with the restage of the existing Advance Techniques line. Advance Techniques will consist of 23 products within six regimens based on hair concerns, namely Frizz Control (Lotus Shield), Daily Shine, Color Protection, Damage Repair, Volume, and Keep Clear.

00001f.jpgOn Tuesday, Gucci announced the appointment of actress Evan Rachel Wood as the face of its forthcoming new women’s fragrance.

Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini, said:”I chose Evan Rachel Wood as she has very strong character. She’s young, but rising and influential figure. I didn’t want to offer this project to someone overexposed or too well known. Instead, I wanted a fresh individual that would coincide with the image of the project.”

Exact details about Wood’s debut for the brand have yet to be divulged.

“Evan Rachel Wood is such a talented and beautiful actress,” said Giannini. “I have always admired her confidence and her ability to transform herself in front of the camera. Even though she can appear shy at times, when the camera starts rolling, she becomes animated and vivacious. She is incredible, very sexy, and her eyes and face really attract the people of her generation.”

Wood joins fellow actor James Franco, who fronts Gucci’s men’s fragrances. The Gucci deal is Wood’s first perfume campaign.
