DiorCremedeRoseLipBalm.jpgWe’d be lying if we said we weren’t initially drawn towards Dior’s Crème de Rose Lip Balm’s chic exterior. We realize that may sound superficial…but look at it! To our delight, packed neatly inside a lovely vintage-inspired container is a just-as-impressive rose-scented balm with essential oils, shea butter and SPF 10 (gotta protect that pout!). The rose scent isn’t overbearing and it works incredibly well on chapped lips. It’s thick but not too sticky, the perfect combo.

This is a handbag must have, especially during fashion week. $25, Sephora

Trends can be intimidating, especially during Fashion Week- not only are the models 16 year old goddesses, but they have the best in makeup, hair, and design backstage dressing them up like dolls. How can we compete?

Thankfully, as we jet from backstage to backstage this season, we keep hearing the same phrases used over and over again: clean, fresh, organic, and “like they did it themselves”. Good news for us, who don’t have the beauty team following us around all day ( a girl can dream!)

072.JPGBackstage at the Charlotte Ronson show, we noticed some really chic looks, which thankfully are super easy to re-create at home. Here’s how to get the look:

For the face, Sephora PRO artist Gilbert Soliz told us that Charlotte wanted the girls to look as if  they’d done their own faces. The skin was kept dewy using Make Up For Ever Face and Body Liquid Makeup, and then sculpted with taupe powder to lift the face. The eyes were then given a monochromatic brown smokey look using Makeup For Ever Aqua Eyes in Pearly Brown. The shadow was applied to the lid and then winged out with a brush, followed by DiorShow mascara enhance lashes. The eyebrows were kept natural and only lightly groomed, and lips were left nude, touched only by clear balm to enhance (Sephora FACE Very Sexy Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 15).

hh.JPGFor the hair,  TRESemmÉ Celebrity Stylist Jeanie Syfu said that Ronson wanted “decadence”. The hair was prepped with a lightweight mousse (Tresemme 24hr Body), and then dried with a round brush for volume before being sectioned off and wrapped lightly around a barrel iron. The curls were then finger combed to loosen the wave, and spritzed with a dry shampoo (Tresemme Fresh Start) to absorb leftover styling products.

New York Fashion Week is upon us, and tonight was the annual Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection Celebrity Fashion Show.

Seventeen designers created dresses that were walked down the runway by some of the biggest names in entertainment, to promote awareness of heart disease in women. Between the amazing one of a kind designs, and the star power (Joan Collins!!!)…once we were able to pick our jaws up off of the floor, we noticed that the makeup and hair was pretty brilliant as well, courtesy of Jimmy Paul for Bumble & Bumble, and the incomparable Bobbi Brown. Here are some of our faves:

Heart_Truth_92d5.jpgA standout was a flawless Kim Kardashian, who paired her dramatic Marchesa with a slicked back, loose wave style that cascaded down her back, bronzed glowing skin, nude lips, and smokey eyes. Gorgeous!

Heart_Truths_Red_42f5.jpg
Heidi Klum, ikept it simple and pretty with her trademark center part, and fresh makeup.

Heart_Truth_9051.jpg
Totally coveting Pauley Perette’s heavy rimmed eyes and rocker bangs.

Heart_Truth_6c9c.jpg
Felicity Huffman was stunning (seriously, so pretty in person!) in hair that was waved, then pinned and a silver smokey eye that made her blues pop.

Heart_Truth_2429.jpg
We saw Jordin Sparks arrive with a head of tight spiral curls; by showtime they were magically transformed into this sleek, shiny style, complimented by a face of fresh pinks and plums.

Heart_Truth_152d.jpgAnd lastly, the ever gorgeous Kimora Lee, who was rocking decidedly understated (for her) ironed hair and light makeup.
