Truth be told, I haven’t been using foundation since I fell for BB cream. But if I hadn’t already switched from foundation, I would totally be ditching it for Almay’s Smart Shade CC Cream Complexion Corrector. Their CC cream provides light to medium coverage, a bit more than other CC creams on the market which is good news for those with uneven skin tone and light redness. Formulated to correct and even skin texture over time, Almay reports that 70% of users in a clinical trial had visible improvements in the clarity and texture in their skin after two weeks of use. A product that works even when you’re not wearing it? I’m in.

What I like most about Almay’s latest product is the smooth and luminous finish it leaves coupled with the fact that it contains broad spectrum SPF 35, making it a perfect summer makeup base. Right now there are only three shades including Light, Light/Medium, and Medium, but the product does include technology that aids in matching the shade to your skin tone. Almay is now officially invited on all upcoming vacations.

A couple weeks ago we noticed Zoe Saldana was favoring a certain bold-hued lip trend. And this week Emma Watson popped up at two different red carpet events sporting two different looks — apparently she doesn’t have a go-to, how refreshing! On June 3, Emma Watson looked a bit more fresh and young on the ‘This Is the End’ red carpet. Her makeup seemed to have a more bronzed, nude tint to it and her lips were a shade akin to just-picked raspberries. Then she stepped out on June 4, in support of her own new movie, ‘The Bling Ring.’ This time she looked decidedly more vamp, with her darker eyebrows and more reddish-hued lips.

Both lips were deeply textured in deeper, flat matte shades of lipcolor — a look Dior Rouge Dior Lip Color nails every time.

Lindsey Vonn initially got our attention when she became the first American female to win an Olympic gold medal for downhill skiing. Lately she’s been gaining our attention on the red carpet with her boyfriend Tiger Woods. She’s been spotted at events like the Met Gala and most recently at the CFDA Fashion Awards for independent American designers, where we were surprised to find we had some serious eyebrow envy.

Vonn’s CFDA red carpet makeup look was created by ArtMix artist Hazuki Matsushita, who opted to draw attention to her eyes by emphasizing her eyebrows. Matsushita wanted a softer, yet defined shape for Vonn’s brows, so she used Tweezerman Slant Tweezers to develop more of an arch. Tweezerman Brow Mousse was applied to seal in the shape and then a soft, ashy eyebrow powder was used to create a lighter color on the brows.

For envy inducing brows at home, check out the Tweezerman Brow Rescue Kit, which includes Tweezerman slant tweezers, brow mousse, brow highlighter pencil, and a brow brush in a travel case.

School may be ending for the summer, but Ciate Chalkboard Manicure Nail Set is ready to teach you a thing or two about nail art. The kit includes a matte black polish (Chalkboard Paint Pot), a mattifying top coat, and four chalk pens in blue, white, pink, and yellow. After applying a base coat and two coats of the matte black polish, allow fifteen minutes for drying. Perfect for a beginner in nail art, the chalk pens are water soluble so that you can remove any mistakes with water. Once you’re happy with your nail design, let it sit for five minutes and then seal in the design with a mattifying top coat. The kit is available exclusively at Sephora for $25.

Hopefully at this point we have all learned the importance of sunscreen for our faces, our bodies, and don’t forget the tops of the ears (I always seem to, unfortunately). But what about the delicate skin under and around the eyes? Since most SPF comes with a warning to “avoid eye area”, and we’ve all at some point felt the sting of not heeding to these instructions, our eyes can be left vulnerable to sun damage.

Sun spots, redness, and horror of all horrors, wrinkles are all caused by leaving the eye area unprotected. For the fight against crow’s feet, here are five eye creams with SPF (amongst other anti-aging and hydrating properties), that will protect you where you need it most.
