Achieving a healthy glow is a lot harder than Rosario Dawson makes it look. Sure, you should drink lots of water, eat healthy, make sure you maintain a regular skin care routine, and get plenty of sleep. But let’s be real for a second here — as much as this is the golden standard we all strive for, who has time for all that? While working towards a healthier lifestyle that will reflect through perfect skin, I’ve been cheating. I’ve tried, tested and found these five beauty products offer the best glow with minimal excess shimmer particles. For good measure, don’t forget to drink a glass of water while you get your glow on.

Blake Lively, and scores of other women, know that nothing says sun goddess more than gilded glamour on your lids. The more shades you have, the more depth you can create to this look, but really you just need a light, almost yellow, gold shimmery shadow (or highlighting powder) and a warmer, almost brown, gold shadow (preferably in a cream formula). Start with the darker, warmer shadow and apply that to the base of the eye lid, stopping right at the crease — I adore Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Rose Gold ($24 at sephora.com) for this effect. Then use the lighter, cooler shadow and apply that at the crease of the lid and blend it in with the lower lid — bareMinerals Eyecolor in Queen Phyllis ($14 at sephora.com) does the trick nicely. Lastly use an eyeliner brush to apply the lighter shadow right at the corner of the eye and along the lower lash line, creating a glowing rim around your eyes. If you feel the need you can finish this look off with a thin black line of eyeliner or, my favorite, just some mascara.

Also, if you like to have some variance in your shades, consider using something like Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick Compact ($42 at sephora.com) it features varying shades of perfectly shimmery shadows. It might be known as a cheek bronzer, but your eyes will glow and shine under its effects, too!

If you’ve caught even a snippet of this season’s Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo, you have probably noticed one of the fashion stylist’s mainstay accessory of late: navy blue eyeliner. For ‘brown-eyed girls’ like Zoe, navy eyeliner highlights and brightens the eye area, creating a subtle but striking contrast to the darker color of the iris. For individuals with lighter eyes, navy eyeliner can often make the subtle colors in your eye come to the forefront. Navy transitions well into the spring, providing a similar effect as black eyeliner without looking harsh and overdone. Take a cue from stylist and designer Zoe — shop the navy blue favorites below.

Sofia Vergara is known for her amazingly killer curves and distinctive accent — both of which can be credited to her Latin American roots. But she decided to showcase a different set of roots all together with a new lighter hair color on her twitter this week. Sofia has commented in the past that her hair is actually, naturally lighter, but she keeps it darker to fit in with the Latina style she thinks audiences expect of her. I think the new lighter style is quite pretty and looks very natural on her, what do you think? Does this new blonder hue soften Sofia, or does the darker shade give her a more sultry depth?
ombre-lip-color-trend.jpgAs a self-professed beauty junkie I really like checking out trends in makeup — during a recent read of Sephora’s The Glossy (their all-things-beauty blog) I stumbled upon a lipstick trend that captivated me. It seems that the ombré style has made its way to lips. With step-by-step tutorials on how to get the colors just right from makeup artist and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics line founder, David Klasfeld, these lip looks are truly worth checking out. The question is, will you try them out, too?
