dita-von-teese2.jpgWhen it comes to retro-glamour and classic makeup looks, Dita Von Teese has made her mark in the beauty and fashion world. With her distinct style, the celeb has many wondering how she does it. We are here to share a few of her beauty secrets (which really aren’t a secret since she did post these on her Twitter page).

When it comes to foundation, Dita isn’t a snob. She loves using L’Oréal True Match in N1 ($10.95,

To give her fair cheeks a flush of color, Dame and The Perfect Cheek both by MAC ($18.50, are the ones she wears most.

We all know Dita loves to rock a red pout, so what is her favorite shade? “…I like MAC Ruby Woo” ($14,

In addition to her lips, red is her go-to shade for her nails. Essie’s Fishnet Stockings ($8, and MAC Rougemarie ($12, are her top picks.

Sonya Dakar’s Lip Juice lip moisturizer is our newest fave— it heals and nurtures lips with olive oil, hemp and Vitamin E and has SPF 15 to help prevent sun damage to the sensitive lip area. The travel-friendly tube goes anywhere (yes, even the smallest clutch), so keeping our lips soft and protected anytime has never been easier. Available in three flavors— Citrus Squeeze, Peppymint and Vanilla Bliss. $10,

lipproducts.jpgLips are what people look at when we speak, what our loved ones feel when we give them a kiss, and one of the features we love to play up and enhance with products. So it’s only natural that we’d want to spend a little time keeping them looking and feeling their best. Take a look at the following five products that we love to plump, treat, nourish and gloss our pouts— muah!

philosophy-kiss-me-lip-scrub.jpgPhilosophy Kiss Me Lip Scrub

For kissable, baby-soft lips, we reach for philosophy’s lip exfoliator to combat dry, flaky lips. This product also fights against the vertical lines associated with aging, and moisturizes with rich butters and oils, leaving lips ready for our favorite lipsticks and glosses. $15,

neutrogenalipboost.bmpNeutrogena Lip Boost, Intense Moisture Therapy

If you want to enhance your pout in a matter of minutes without breaking the bank, we recommend heading to your local drugstore. While most lip enhancers leave lips with a tingly sensation— and sometimes even burn— Neutrogena Lip Boost, Intense Moisture Therapy gives results minus the burn. With cucumber and peppermint to provide a lips with a fabulous cooling sensation, it also contains glycerin and sesame oil to boost lips moisture levels. $6.59,

sephoracompletelipbalm.jpgSephora Brand “Tricks of the Trade” Complete Lip Balm

The experts at Sephora created this nourishing lip treatment using mango butter and Vitamin E to make us feel like we’re giving our lips the star treatment. Between the smooth texture, great smell and cooling sensation it gives our lips, we’re not surprised this is loved by many a Sephora shopper. $8,

cliniqueallaboutlips.jpgClinique All About Lips

We all have issues with fading lip color. Unless we’re wearing a longwear lip color, we can’t expect to see our favorite rouge still on our lips past lunch. With All About Lips, those days are gone— it de-flakes lips, lipstick goes on smooth and resists feathering later in the day. Another plus: this minimizes fine lines and wrinkles while reversing the look of sun damage. $21,

jansen beckett vitamin c serum.jpg

“Start with a light serum that smooths the skin and sinks in immediately without leaving an oily residue - Janson Beckett Vitamin C&C Facial Serum ($44.50, is perfect for this.”

Smashbox Halo Hydrating Powder.jpg

cargo blush catalina.jpg

“Using a fluffy brush, swirl a sheen powder blush onto the apples of your cheeks - I love Cargo’s Catalina blush ($24, as it is a perfect pinky-coral shade.”

duwop lash venom.jpg

“As you don’t have much time, use one shade of eyeshadow all over the lid and into the crease; think soft sheeny, muted shades like taupe, heather and moss, and take it under the lower lashline too. Line the top lashes with a soft matte pencil and soften the edges with a cotton bud. A few coats of thickening mascara (try Lash Venom by DuWop, $24, finish the eyes.”

jouer amaryllis.jpg

“For your lips use a stain or a cream tint like the ones by Jouer ($20, ), which can also be used as a blush - Amaryllis is especially pretty - and smooth into the lips for a barely there flush.”

**Melissa’s tips if you only have 5 minutes:

“Spray your face with a refreshing mist like Caudalie Beauty Elixir (from $15,, which I always use to smooth my skin and freshen my makeup after a long day. Let it dry for a few seconds and then, using a cream tint in a versatile shade like a soft gold or bronze, smooth onto eyelids, cheeks and lips. Lots of mascara for definition and a light colored eyeliner in the lower lashline will open up your eyes. You should be finished in less than 5 minutes but still will sweep your man off of his feet!”
