L'Oreal-Mascara.jpg
Finding a mascara that checks off everything on your laundry-list of lash must-haves isn’t always an easy feat, especially at a price point that doesn’t make you cringe. Sure, Lancome mascaras never disappoint, but they also deliver a whopper of a price tag to your wallet. I like to save the award-winning “look at me” lashes for those extra special nights out, especially from a pen-sized container bordering on $30. With that said, L’Oreal’s new Double Extend Eye Illuminator mascara is fantastic and fun - even for festive outings - for everyday lashes.

My biggest mascara must-have is lengthening, as my lashes are much shorter than I’d want them to be, and this product definitely delivers. It doesn’t clump, and gives enough volume to satisfy that need, as well. I always have a huge problem with smudged, raccoon eyes with non-waterproof varieties, and I did not have that concern with this mascara.

The most notable part of this product is surely the “eye illuminator” part. Available in four shades, the mascara is supposed to bring out your eye color, and my chocolate brown eyes definitely shined a little brighter with the help of the golden specks in the Black Copper hue. Though glittery lashes might be a little much for the office, I loved it for date night or glam dinners out with the gals.

Overall, for around $10, it’s a great everyday drugstore buy with some oomph and pizazz! $10.95, drugstore.com

Clinique-Bottom-Lash-Mascara.jpgWe thought we’d seen it all when it came to the world of mascara. But then Clinique went ahead and gave us something new to talk about, thanks to their brand-new Bottom Lash Mascara.

As if you hadn’t already guessed, this mascara is meant just for the bottom lashes. It comes in a tiny tube, and the brush is designed specifically for coating those pesky, miniature, hard-to-reach bottom lashes. It grips even the tiniest lashes and resists smearing, so you don’t have to worry about looking like you don’t know how to apply mascara properly.

We love the fact that a few swipes of this mascara makes our eyes come alive. No matter how much (or how little!) sleep we got the night before, our bottom lashes now make us look refreshed and well-rested. It comes in both brown and black, so you can control the dramatic impact you wish to have. (If you’re like us, you always, always go for black.)

To remove, simply splash warm water onto your lashes and press gently. Voila! The mascara comes right off!

Clinique Bottom Lash mascara retails for $10 at sephora.com.

We’ve fallen madly, deeply, head over heels in love. We just don’t see any return from such a passionate love affair as we’re currently in the midst of with M.A.C False Lashes.

It curls. It lengthens. It thickens. It volumizes. Seriously, we don’t think there’s anything this brand-new mascara from M.A.C doesn’t do. In just one coat, our lashes were so long and luscious, we’re fairly certain they could be seen from outer space.

The “double-lush brush,” as M.A.C refers to the super-thick twisty mascara brush, is the reason behind such an unbelievably thick fringe … and, yes, it really does make you look like you’re wearing falsies!

Now that we’ve gone false, we just don’t think we’ll ever go back.

Sephora-Favorites.jpg
Got some last minute gifts to take care of? We love Sephora Favorites samplers. Our two picks in particular are the LashStash and Glitz & Glam. With New Year’s Eve less than two weeks away, we’re already planning our ultra-glam look. There is really no other day of the year where you can go all out with glitz (sparkle shoes, anyone?) than on the last day on the calendar. If you have a makeup addict on your list, check these out. $40 and under, both kits (as well as most of the others available) come with a little bit of everything. LashStash is equipped with 10 of Sephora’s top selling mascaras and a handy eyelash curler. Some of our personal favorites such as Benefit BadGal Lash (great for volume!) and Blinc Kiss Me (wonderful separation, and no smudging, we promise) are packaged up for sampling.

To get (or give) a gorgeous glow, the Glitz & Glam kit comes with everything you could need to be photo and spotlight ready for the holidays, or the whole year (though these little jars won’t last that long.) Overall, both are great values, and any beauty junkie would squeal at the variety to play with. $39 (Glitz & Glam) and $40 (LashStash); sephora.com

MAC-Haute-&-Naughty-Lash.jpgTruth be told, we’re addicted to mascara. The longer it makes our lashes, the better. And if we’re wearing our glasses and our lashes are brushing up against them? We consider the mascara a complete success.

At the top of our list right now is most definitely M.A.C Haute & Naughty Lash. This mascara features a dual-wiper system that allows you to customize and build the coverage upon your lashes to your liking. (If you’re like us, you want to look like you’re wearing falsies.)

The packaging is truly intriguing. One wiper refines the application for a clean sweep across the lashes, while the other liberally packs the mascara onto lashes for unbelievably strong impact. The “wipers” are both contained within the top of the tube — the pink contains the smaller wand, while the purple holds the bigger.

We’ve actually found that applying two coats with the pink wand makes our lashes look unbelievable for every day. One coat with the purple wand adds full-on drama for night.
