Sometimes we have a lot of money to spend, sometimes we don’t. When it comes to mascara, we know some of the best can only be found in a department store or specialty boutique. We also know that some of the best can be found in the drugstore for less than $10.

These are our favorites, suitable for every budget.

Our Top 3 Picks— LUXE:

Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes

This odd brush gives our lashes the most amazing look: lengthened, separated and strengthened thanks to panthenol in the formula. After a little practice, we are now able to create a gorgeous lash look that we love. $28,

Dior DiorShow Iconic

With its soft, oblique cut brush to wrap its mascara formula around each lash and give an extra curling effect, Iconic is one every woman should own, or at least try. This also provides a surprising amount of fantastic volume and contains a silk extract that is normally found in hair conditioners. $27,

Shiseido The Makeup Lasting Lift Mascara

We love this mascara for providing our lashes with definition, length and fabulous volume. Air Volume Powder in the formula offers curl enhancement and a light-weight feel. Waterproof and sweat-proof. $22,

Our Top 3 Picks— LESS:

Maybelline Lash Discovery

For lashes that are practically invisible, this makes them appear virtually out of nowhere. Even those of us with thick lashes love this for its ability to get to every last lash. $6.59,

CoverGirl Professional Waterproof All In One

This mascara does it all— volumizes, lengthens, separates, is water-proof and won’t flake or bother your eyes if you wear contacts. If there’s a club for over-achieving mascaras, this one is a member. $4.99,

Rimmel London Glam Eyes Mascara

Don’t let the skinny, flexible wand fool you— this mascara means business. Short bristles work to add volume and length and the longer ones keep lashes from clumping. It takes a few coats to get to serious volume, but trust us, it’s completely worth the effort. $7.49,

donna_karan_fall_2009_jourdan_dunn2.jpgWhile everything from metallics to bright neon colors were seen on the runways for Fall 2009, it was the rosy-gold, post-summer looks that peaked our interest, as it looks like a more natural way to transition into the season. Pink and peach tones create a romantic and soft look when used with bronzes and coppers, and is an easy way to give the face a radiant glow. Take a look at our picks for incorporating this look into your beauty routine.

Laura Mercier Mosaic Shimmer Bloc

Each of the four colors in this compact can be used individually or together to add a boost of color and radiance anywhere on the face (we love to use it to highlight cheeks and brow bones) thanks to light-reflecting particles that give the skin a healthy glow. $38,

Estee Lauder Eye Shadow Quad in Sensuous Gold

Make your eyes shine with gorgeous quartet of bronzes. As with all Estee Lauder eye shadows, these offer high color payoff and long-lasting results. Limited Edition. $35,

maybellinelinestylistliner.jpgMaybelline Line Stylist Eyeliner in Bronze Gleam

To add a simple hint of bronze to your eyes that will also add subtle definition, this eyeliner is our favorite. It makes any novice feel like a pro with its precision of application. The long-lasting formula keeps eyes looking fresh and polished all day and easily washes away at the end of the day. $5.79,

Jane Iredale PurePress Blush in Whisper

A perfect blend of warm peachy-pink, this blush is made pure, nourishing minerals that reduces inflammation and conditions skin while providing a natural-looking wash of just-blushed color. Can also be used on eyes and lips. $26,

Wet ‘n’ Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in Rose Gold

With just the right amount of stickiness (not super tacky, but not sliding off our lips instantly), we love this gloss for it’s pretty shimmer and glossy finish. We have to add the fact that the price tag is definitely very apealing, too. $1.99,

MAC Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick

For creating the ultimate high-impact neutral pout, Dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick is our go-to lippie. With a silky texture and brilliant finish, this is one gloss that keep us coming back for more. $18,

eyebrows.jpgIf you pay attention to trends, you’ve noticed that the shape and fullness of eyebrows has gone back and forth between bold and full to sleek and thin. While the former is more popular this season, we all agree that defined and properly shaped brows really make a difference to the face. Take a look at some brow-loving products we love for keeping our eyes’ frames in tip-top shape.

Anastasia Brow Ex-press

This travel kit includes everything you’ll need to create fabulous-looking brows, anytime, anywhere: four brow stencils to suit your brow shape; two brow powders, choose from blonde or brunette, to give your brows the most natural look; an angled brush for clean application; cream highlighter for application along the brow bone to lift and accentuate the eyes and wax cream created to hold a perfect shape all day. $38,

revlon colorstay brow enhancer.jpgRevlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer

The result is soft, long-lasting definition for our brows and an accentuated brow bone, giving our eyes a more lifted appearance. $8.99,

lavaquetweezers.jpgLaVaque Tweezers

Creating a clean, well-groomed brow requires using a really good pair of tweezers. We were recently introduced to these LaVaque tweezers and already love them for being so precise and easy to use. To add to the glam factor, these tweezers are also available with 13 colors of Swarovski Crystals. Every pair comes with a lifetime guarantee: “you break ‘em, you dull ‘em, we replace ‘em. No questions asked”. From $14.95,

sephorabrandeyebrowtrimmerbrush.jpgSephora Brand Eyebrow Trimmer/Brush

Tweezerman After Tweeze Soothing Cream

After waxing or tweezing, skin can become sore, so we treat it with this. Formulated with moisturizers, honey and rice bran extract, this calming cream cools and comforts skin. $7.99,

Unfortunately, not everyone wakes up looking refreshed after a night’s rest. We’ve all been there — waking up to see the dreaded puffy eyes. In most cases, it’s caused by lack of sleep, consuming too much salt or not drinking enough water. When this happens, don’t panic. We have an age-old recipe for banishing them.

Start by applying a cold compress to your peepers. Some at-home remedies include:

tea-remedy-for-puffy-eyes2.jpgCooled green tea bags: the caffeine and antioxidants in green tea will assist with reducing the swelling.

Cucumber slices: the cucumber has astringent properties which will reduce puffiness.

Ice pack— not too fancy, but the cold factor does reduce the puffiness. If you’re a mom of a baby, frozen teething rings work well, too.

We also like Sephora Brand Pearl Ice Cooling Eye Mask by Inka: This mask is kept in our freezer for those “just in case” situations. Filled with tiny glass beads and enclosed in thermal plastic, this mask can also be warmed by placing it into a bowl of warm water. $26,

After relaxing with one of these on for 10 to 15 minutes, follow with the application of a lightweight eye gel or cream  (steer clear of “hydrating” creams that will only trap the water under the skin).  Be sure to look for ingredients like caffeine, Vitamin K and chamomile

Great puff-banishing eye gels:

L’Oreal Dermo Expertise Defense Eye— Our drugstore favorite, this gel treats our puffy eye symptoms with caffeine and other ingredients to sooth and combat signs of aging.  $13.49,

skyniceland_HydroCoolFirmingEyeGels.jpgSkyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels are perfect for travel when puffiness due to lack of sleep is common. Cooling and refreshing, your eyes will thank you for this de-puffing treat. from $45,

Benefit Depuffing Action Eye Gel soothes our eyes with chamomile and red raspberry extracts while a “secret” ingredient gives puffiness the boot. $28,
