London’s iconic Sanctuary Spa has gone from being an exclusive ballerina retreat in the 1970s (yes, such a thing existed!) to delivering their luxurious spa experience from across the pond and straight to your home. With the launch of their Youth Boosting Facial In-a-Box through QVC ($39), Sanctuary Spa’s facial in-a-box features anti-aging skincare products that work together to provide a full facial experience in the comfort of your own home. Featuring marine extracts like seaweed that promote the skin’s renewal, the kit includes single use packages of five products developed by celebrity facialist Nichola Joss. Her advice for the full spa experience at home: light a fragranced candle, turn on some gentle music, and allow at least half an hour to enjoy the full facial.

The Sanctuary Spa Youth Boosting Facial In-a-Box kit includes:

.5 oz Warming Microdermabrasion Polish
.5 oz Time Reversal Face Mask
.16 oz Firming Youth Serum
.16 oz Brighten Eye Complex
.33 oz Night Concentrate

When it comes to new beauty trends, BB cream has been leading the pack in popularity. Brands from Maybelline to Dior offered the beauty balm or blemish balm to the masses who gladly slathered on BB goodness to tint, hydrate and SPF their faces. Seemingly taking a trend and running with it, beauty brands are now selling us on the multiple benefits of CC (or color corrector) cream. So is this for real? Is there a difference between BB cream and CC cream?

It may surprise you to hear that there actually is a difference between the two similar sounding products. CC cream fits more in the skincare family than the cosmetic family, unlike BB cream. With the main focus of the product on priming, nourishing and providing color correction to your skin, CC cream is the older, wiser and less flashy (color coverage wise) version of BB cream.

UK based skincare brand Nip + Fab creator, Maria Hatzistefanis, tells us that she created her CC cream “as an answer to many peoples’ complaints about BB creams,” stating that “they are often too oily, too heavy.” Creating a lighter formula that corrects skin rather than just covering it up, brands like Clinique will be introducing their own CC cream this spring that will focus on brighter skin with the use of light diffusing optic technology. If you have redness, uneven skin tone, or acne prone skin, CC cream will be a welcome addition to your routine.

Every girl needs the right items in her bag to ensure she always looks her best, even after the most intense of workouts. With a plethora of wipes, spritzes and fragrances formulated to freshen you right up, the key is to finding the right products.
gym-bag-wipes.jpg
Wipes: Baby wipes, like Pamper’s Natural Clean Wipes, are quite possibly the most versatile product on the planet. For those days where you feel especially funky after a workout, or when you just don’t have time to hit the showers these babies will leave your skin feeling fresh and clean immediately. I also keep facial towelettes in my bag at all times, too — Say Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Wipes wipe away sweat, grime and makeup in one easy swipe.

Spritzes: When you don’t have the time, or interest, in redoing your makeup after dripping in sweat, then you’ll want to pick up a facial spritzer. Most are formulated to restore a skin’s natural balance with moisturizer and freshening ingredients. When I’m looking for a freshening, pick-me-up, I always use Aveda Botanical Kinetics Skin Firming/Toning Agent. And when I’m looking for more of a moisturizer I turn to L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Face Mist.

Fragrances: While a nice, hot shower is is the best thing for soothing my muscles, a light spritzing of a body spray, or a little dab of perfume always has me feeling good as new. Bodycology’s Fragrance Mists come in some great scents and also come in the perfect travel size, just right for stashing in your already-full gym bag. Quite possibly the best thing to happen to fragrance was roll on perfumes. These little vials are perfectly portable and easy to apply to pressure points for just the right amount of scent. I recently  discovered Pacifica Roll-On Perfume at Target and became obsessed with their Indian Coconut Nectar.

And it goes without saying that the most important beauty item in your arsenal is water. Make sure you are properly hydrated, before, during, and after your workouts. While some people turn to fancy protein-packed beverages, or items like coconut water, the basic H2O will also do the trick just fine.
Kiehl's-Facial-Fuel-Eye-De-Puffer.jpgWe have a secret weapon. On days when our eyes are looking a little worse for wear, we reach for our tube of Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer. Why this innocent little blue tube? Well, a few important reasons:

1) It’s incredibly cooling.
2) It’s formulated with caffeine to reduce puffiness in the eye area.
3) The tube contains a thick stick which you rub into the skin—a different kind of eye treatment than any other we’ve used.
4) The formula isn’t greasy or sticky.

In short? This product really works to make your eyes look more youthful and rejuvenated. And what’s wrong with that?

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Eye De-Puffer retails for $20 at kiehls.com.
mark-see-things-clearly-brightening-moisturizer.jpg
With my delicate, sensitive, often dry, fair skin I can have a heck of a time finding the right moisturizer. Add to all that my skin’s reaction to sulfates and I swear I find myself spending more time reading labels then actually caring for my skin. In my quest I stumbled upon a great moisturizer from mark, their See Things Clearly Brightening Moisturizer.

They describe their formula as, “Mulberry, molassesand licorice combine for a unique brightening complex that, with the help of antioxident-rich lotus flowerworks to improve skin clarity.” In basic beauty speak this means it aims to revive skin and restore radiance with a brilliantly formulated mix of super fruits and super foods.  I don’t know about you, but one of the most depressing parts about winter for me is how dull and lifeless it can leave my skin, especially my face after braving the cold, brutal winds. And from my experience the past several months, I can say this moisturizer does all it sets out to do — My skin is soft, moisturized, and brighter, and as a bonus, I feel like my skin tone is more even! And, I have to give mark credit for their ingenious packaging. While it takes a little bit more effort to get the product going through the dispenser at first use, because of the kind of pump they use, your products will have a longer shelf life.

You can buy mark See Things Clearly Brightening Moisturizer for $10 at meetmark.com.
