Achieving a healthy glow is a lot harder than Rosario Dawson makes it look. Sure, you should drink lots of water, eat healthy, make sure you maintain a regular skin care routine, and get plenty of sleep. But let’s be real for a second here — as much as this is the golden standard we all strive for, who has time for all that? While working towards a healthier lifestyle that will reflect through perfect skin, I’ve been cheating. I’ve tried, tested and found these five beauty products offer the best glow with minimal excess shimmer particles. For good measure, don’t forget to drink a glass of water while you get your glow on.

Get Glowing with bareMinerals on QVCNothing says spring like a glorious (faux) tan! Whether you desire a subtle glow or rich warmth, bareMinerals has all of the tools you need to achieve the perfect warm weather-ready look with ease. Feast on a few of these beauty essentials from bareMinerals at QVC and prepare to take your winter skin from sallow to sensational.

1. bareMinerals Faux Tan Gradual Glow Sunless Face Tanner

Skip the expensive flight and achieve an island-worthy glow right at home with the new Faux Tan Gradual Glow Sunless Face Tanner. Formulated to deliver radiance over time, this sunless tanner works to develop the tan of your dreams — minus the exposure to harmful ultraviolet rays. With mineral copper complex and moisturizing plant derivatives, it nourishes and enhances the skin at the same time.

2. bareMinerals Ready Bronzer and Luminizer with Brush

A little sparkle and a golden glow? We’re all for it! This pair gives you both in an instant. Use the brush that accompanies Ready Bronzer to kiss skin with a bronzed finish that will undoubtedly turn heads. Then end with a sweep of the illuminating champagne-toned highlighter for the perfect finishing touch.

3. bareMinerals Beautifully Bronzed Deluxe Kit

An effortless and completely natural-looking tan can be yours — without the usual fuss and mess that accompanies at-home formulas. The Beautifully Bronzed kit contains a deluxe 16-ounce bottle of Faux Tan, which appears on the skin as it’s applied to help prevent those streaks that just scream “DIY tan gone wrong!” Even better, the included tan brush makes application a breeze. Just deposit color onto the brush and buff evenly onto skin. Voila: a goof-proof tan that looks even better than the real deal.

4. bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Quad: The Comfort Zone

Infused with a cocktail of anti-aging and antioxidant-rich ingredients, the Ready Eyeshadow Quad goes above and beyond the call of beauty duty. It delivers immaculate, true and lasting color and features a wonderfully soft, easy-to-blend texture that makes it a dream to apply. With four coordinating colors to work with, this could end up being your palette of the season.

5. bareMinerals Lip Quickie Collection: Modern Florals

What better way to complement that amazing tan than with a kiss of pretty color? The Lip Quickie Collection includes three striking hues that drench your pout with a creamy, semi-matte finish that lasts and lasts. The design features a pointed tip, which allows for expert precision every time you apply.

When it comes to new beauty trends, BB cream has been leading the pack in popularity. Brands from Maybelline to Dior offered the beauty balm or blemish balm to the masses who gladly slathered on BB goodness to tint, hydrate and SPF their faces. Seemingly taking a trend and running with it, beauty brands are now selling us on the multiple benefits of CC (or color corrector) cream. So is this for real? Is there a difference between BB cream and CC cream?

It may surprise you to hear that there actually is a difference between the two similar sounding products. CC cream fits more in the skincare family than the cosmetic family, unlike BB cream. With the main focus of the product on priming, nourishing and providing color correction to your skin, CC cream is the older, wiser and less flashy (color coverage wise) version of BB cream.

UK based skincare brand Nip + Fab creator, Maria Hatzistefanis, tells us that she created her CC cream “as an answer to many peoples’ complaints about BB creams,” stating that “they are often too oily, too heavy.” Creating a lighter formula that corrects skin rather than just covering it up, brands like Clinique will be introducing their own CC cream this spring that will focus on brighter skin with the use of light diffusing optic technology. If you have redness, uneven skin tone, or acne prone skin, CC cream will be a welcome addition to your routine.

fresh-here-comes-the-sun-face-palette.jpg
It may be the dead of winter, and my tan line may be practically nonexistent now, but I walk around feeling rosy and bright thanks to my Fresh Here Comes the Sun Face Palette. I’m a fair-skinned blonde and that can spell trouble when it comes to blushers and especially bronzers — one swipe of the wrong color (or product) and I don’t even come close to achieving a natural glow. This product has three great shades, left to right: resolute gold, here comes the sun, intense bronze. I like to use here comes the sun on the apples of my cheeks and then use a VERY LIGHT (I can’t stress that enough) dusting of resolute gold across my forehead, the bridge of my nose, and on top of here comes the sun on my cheeks. The dusting of resolute gold to the areas where the sun typically kisses our faces the most really helps to add dimension — achieving the desired end result of the most natural of glows!

You can get Fresh Here Comes the Sun Face Palette for $45 at Sephora.com.

If you suffer from severely dry skin in the cold, winter months, this is the cream for you. It helps even the most cracked, miserable, scaliest of skins return to a soft and supple state. Its non-greasy formula won’t leave you feeling shiny or slick and its super-absorbent qualities mean it penetrates deeply and restores skin quickly. It’s also completely natural and safe for use on the body or face … personally, my hands practically scream for it.

You can buy First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream for $28 at sephora.com.
