bath-and-body-works-sweet-on-paris-fragrance-mist.jpg
My adoration for bakery-scented fragrances might have just met it’s match in the Bath and Body Works Sweet on Paris Fragrance Mist. They describe it as, “as enticing medley of juicy blackberry, lemon meringue and creamy vanilla, inspired by the sweet temptations of a Parisian patisserie,” I would describe it as yummy without the overindulgence. It is a light and sheer scent that has the hints of deliciousness without the overpowering weight of a true vanilla scent — Meaning the people around you won’t think you’ve been in the kitchen all day!

Fragrance-Splashes-Image.jpgWe don’t know about you, but when it’s super hot out, the last thing we want to do is douse ourselves with a heavy perfume. It just feels too cloying and close for our tastes when it’s over 85 degrees and sticky outside! That’s where fragrance splashes come in handy. They’re light, they’re fresh, they provide just enough scent to make you feel pretty but not so much that you’ll feel like you’re drowning. These are our five favorites.

Bath & Body Works Malibu Heat Fine Fragrance Mist
Juicy notes like fresh mandarin and pineapple blend with more sensual ones like creamy vanilla and sandalwood in this fragrance that transports us right to—you guessed it—Malibu.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Mist
Smells delightfully orange-tastic but without feeling too girlish or cutesy. And, truth be told, it makes us want to bite right into a juicy tangerine.

gud Orange Petalooza Natural Body Mist
Yes, another orange fragrance! What can we say, oranges make us feel all summery inside and out. This one combines with hyacinth for a delightfully feminine finish.

Demeter Fragrance Library Cosmopolitan Cocktail Pick-Me-Up Cologne Spray
To be perfectly honest, we had a tough time picking a favorite from the Demeter fragrance collection. Every one just smells so divine and delicious! But we landed on this one, because who doesn’t want to feel like she’s in an episode of Sex and the City with what’s still one of the coolest drinks around?

LaLicious Sugar Kiss Everyday Everywhere Spray
The blend of rose, citrus and vanilla is dangerously delectable and perfect everywhere from your clavicle to your sheets!

Chloe-Eau-De-Parfum-Rollerball.jpgWe’ve long loved rollerball fragrances. They’re chic, they’re portable, they’re the perfect way to wear a fragrance without over commitment. So is it any wonder that the Chloe Eau de Parfum Rollerball has swooped in and stolen our heart?

Notes of pink peony, freesia and lychee are accompanied by magnolia flower, lily of the valley and rose. A base of cedarwood, amber and honey grounds the fruity and flowery notes and brings a warmth and seductiveness to an otherwise girly scent.

We love that Chloe is at once sultry and girly, understated yet overstated. It beckons everyone in a room closer, leaves them all wondering. In short? It’s the one you’ll be reaching into your purse for again and again, telling yourself, “Just one more sweep of the rollerball across my clavicle.”

Chloe Eau de Parfum Rollerball retails for $25 at sephora.com.
Balenciaga-Paris-Eau-De-Parfum.jpgOh, to be a woman of leisure and luxury. Luckily, you can pretend you’re one, thanks to Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum.

We’ve long been fans of this scent, steeped in heady violet and touched with airy blossom and spicy peppery notes. It’s a fragrance that gets you noticed but isn’t too heavy or cloying, one that makes people stop and turn when you walk into a room. One that has everyone around you saying, “You smell fantastic.”

And, as if that’s not enough, the bottle design is sophisticated and beautiful, with a geometric-printed round stopper that looks perfect on any vanity or dressing table.

Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum retails for $95-$130 at bergdorfgoodman.com.
fergie-nail-polish-lady-gaga-fame.jpg
Like it or not there is no shortage of celebrity involvement in the cosmetics world these days. Fergie signed on with wet n wild to be one of their Beauty Ambassadors, making her the face of the cosmetics line for new marketing campaigns. And the first of her endeavors with them, a collection of nail polishes, is starting to pop up in stores. We hear that Tonight’s Gonna Be a Good Night (a clear polish with tiny flecks of black and larger gold hex glitter) is a killer glitter nail topper.

Lady Gaga created her own beauty buzz this week, as she broke the news to her tweeple that her new fragrance wouldn’t break their piggy banks. Lady Gaga Fame, the star’s first fragrance, will be available in September this year and will come in two different packagings. The more pared down of the two will be $30, while a heavier (and likely gaudier) bottle will be available for about $70. The back of the packaging for the fragrance says it’s scented with notes of “tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.”
