Short and pixie-style haircuts can be worn in a slightly undone way during the day, but creating a more piece-y or sleek look with a pomade or styling wax will add the perfect amount of glamour to compliment your evening ensemble.
If you have medium length hair, hot rollers or a curling iron will kick your style up a notch. Give your hair some curls in the morning before work and pull it back to a low, slightly loose bun during the day. When it’s time to hit the town, remove the bun, shake out your hair and you’ll you’ll be “set” to go.

An effortless-looking hairstyle is always sexy when worn with a more put-together look. Jessica Biel proved this when she complimented her crisp strapless dress, long cardigan and flats with a loose, texurized ponytail for the premiere of the new family film, Planet 51. We’re loving the free-spirited feeling of this hairstyle, created by Fekkai stylist Adir Abergel.

To add texture to her hair before securing it in a ponytail, Adir sprayed it with Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray ($23, beauty.com). As an extra boost, he followed this with a little teasing at the crown and made sure to leave some loose pieces around Jessica’s face.

gabrielle-union.jpgGabrielle Union’s full, glossy hairstyle is easy to acheive and, to the excitement of our wallets, also affordable— thanks to products by Tresemme. We always find it so refreshing knowing that our favorite stars use the same products we ourselves love.

We got the scoop from Tresemme stylist Tyler Laswell on how he created this full-bodied look for the star:

To begin, prep hair with TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray ($4.75, drugstore.com) all over.

Next, separate hair into four sections; sides, back of head and top of head. Then, wrap 1” sections around a curling iron, holding the ends. Alternate between a 1” curling iron and a 1 1/2” iron. This adds more demention and volume to the hair.

Once entire head curled, use a blow dryer and just your fingertips to stretch and soften the curls into waves. Finish the look with one of our favorite glossing products, TRESemmé No-Frizz Shine Spray ($4.75, drugstore.com) to create a natural sheen.

At the Keep a Child Alive Blackball Gala, many of Hollywood’s humanitarians turned out to show their support. Elegance was an obvious theme, and Paula Patton’s own elegant look really caught our attention.

Ursula Stephen, Celebrity Stylist for Motions hair products, created Paula’s gorgeous pompadour-esque hairstyle, proving once again that red-carpet looks never have to break the bank. Here’s the inside scoop on how this show-stopping style was created:

Ursula applied a Motions Light Styling Foam ($5.99, amazon.com) all over Paula’s hair, then blew it dry in an upward direction for volume.

Using a 1 1/4” curling iron, waves were created throughout her hair.

With a fine-toothed comb, emphasizing on the crown, Ursula teased the hair.

The look was finished with Motions Light Hold Working Spritz ($4.99, drugstore.com).
