Nails-Inc.-The-Donmar-Collection.jpgWe don’t ever really have boring nails. The more outlandish, the crazier the colors, the bolder the choices, the better. So is it any wonder we’re currently loving Nails Inc.’s The Donmar Collection?

Truth be told, we’ve been super in love with every nail polish by this British import for years … and we’re thrilled that it’s finally available at Sephora. But The Donmar Collection is pretty spectacular, because the two nail polishes work so impossibly well together it’s just impossible not to fall in love.

This collection includes Chelsea, a plum black, and The Donmar Overglaze Top Coat. Chelsea is striking on its own for its dark purplish black hue and creamy, glossy finish. And the top coat is definitely one of the coolest we’ve come across—chunky flecks of hand-cut red and black glitter particles turn Chelsea (or, really, any color) totally cool and holographic.

CND-Solar-Cuticle-Oil.jpgSo, here’s the thing. We know we should be treating our cuticles every day, but we either forget, we’re lazy, or we just don’t care enough to do it. And yes, we know that’s stupid. But then along came CND SolarOil, and overnight, our cuticle regimen changed dramatically.

For starters, this cuticle oil smells fantastic. It has the aroma of almonds, so as we rub it into our cuticles, we can’t help but be in a wonderful mood.

But aside from the scent, this product works. A combination of Vitamin E, jojoba oil and natural light oils penetrate the skin and protect the nails, giving them extra nourishment and moisturization in just seconds.

We were skeptical of just how much better our cuticles would look until we tried SolarOil on hands so ravaged, even a professional manicure couldn’t save them. Ragged cuticles, hangnails, the works. A few days brushing SolarOil onto the cuticles (you brush it on with the included nail polish brush, so genius) and our nails were flawless.

So if your winter-ravaged hands are in need of a little pick-me-up—or, come to think of it, you need an everyday cuticle oil that smells amazing and takes only 10 seconds to apply—CND SolarOil is the one for you.

Deborah-Lippmann-Fashion.jpgLooking for a nude nail polish that still garners attention? Then you’d better reach for a bottle of Deborah Lippmann Fashion.

This nail color slicks on easily and effortlessly, with no streaking or goopy mess left behind. One coat is actually fairly opaque, but we like to do two for maximum impact and staying power.

We love the glossy finish of the polish as well. While we always recommend using a top coat to lock in the color and add shine, it’s actually amazingly shiny all on its own!

And the color? Think taupe, nude and khaki all rolled into one perfect little package. Tres fashionable, if we do say so ourselves.

jennifer-garner-11072011.jpgA beautiful and expecting Jennifer Garner attended an AFI premiere of her new movie ‘Butter’  this past week. But it wasn’t her drapey dress, strappy sandals, or barely there makeup that caught my eye — it was her nail polish. With her hand perfectly poised on her hip I saw flashes of gun metal grey with a bit of sparkle and became entranced.

I don’t know exactly which products she used to achieve this great color, but my nail color know-how tells me that this can certainly be copied at home. First you’ll need a great grey base polish, try OPI’s French Quarter for Your Thoughts or my personal fave, Essie’s Chinchilly. Next you need a sparkly top coat with a silver sheen to it, SEPHORA by OPI Flurry Up Top Coat or Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in In the Spotlight will work nicely. Start with a good coat or two of the grey base and then apply the sparkle. Try this trick with any of your fave fall colors and watch them sparkle on through the holiday season!
