Sephora-By-OPI-Only-Gold-For-Me-Top-Coat.jpgNormally, I’m not a fan of chunky glitter nail polish. I don’t like the gritty texture of it upon my nails, or how difficult it is to remove. But in the case of Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me Top Coat, it’s impossible not to make an exception.

Not only does this nail polish sparkle equally as bright in the sun as in a darkened room, but its ability to overwhelm knows no bounds. It sparkles, it glistens, it glitters … in other words, it demands attention.

Plus, it works well on its own or layered over other colors. I’ve tried it over black, over nude, even over a shimmery gold, and it just keeps on looking amazing! I’ve discussed this top coat’s merits with manicurists and nail polish obsessed friends alike, and we all agree—it’s a keeper.

And, at the end of the day, it’s not too painfully hard to take off. Who knew?

Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me Top Coat retails for $9.50 at sephora.com.
Chanel-Holiday-Nail-Polish.jpgOh, Chanel. We just can’t quit you. You keep coming out with nail polish after nail polish that we simply have to have for our fingers and toes … and Le Vernis Nail Colour in Holiday is no different.

This nail polish is such an exquisite shade of orange. It’s bright, it’s vibrant, it looks gorgeous on fingers and toes—and, of course, it’s totally perfect for the dog days of summer. Every time we wear it, we can’t help but stare at our nails for hours on end!

And, as with every Chanel polish, the formula is consistent and perfect, and it lasts for days without chipping. Even after ripping open packages and typing up a storm, our nails remained intact for a whole week!

In other words … Chanel, we love you.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Holiday retails for $26 at chanel.com.

Mint-Nail-Polish-Essie-RGB.jpgIt’s hard to find that one perfect nail polish color that’s bright and attention-grabbing but not too over the top. One that looks just as good on fingers as it does on toes. As it turns out, mint nail polish is the way to go. These are our two favorite shades.

Essie Mint Candy Apple
Since its inception in 2009, this one has been a cult favorite—and it’s easy to see why. Two coats yield absolute perfection. This polish is neither too bright nor too muted, in some lights looking almost white and others near turquoise! But, no matter what, it’s sophisticated and chic.

RGB Minty
There’s no doubt about it, this polish really is minty green. At a recent pedicure appointment, it jumped out at us from the shelves of pinks and reds—and now we’re wearing it on our toes! Even our pedicurist had to confide that she buys bottles and bottles of this color for her personal collection. It’s creamy, it’s gorgeous, it’s completely unique. And, much like our pedicurist, we’re about to start stockpiling.

sally-hansen-salon-manicure-base-coat.jpg
I’m always sharing pics of my nail color combinations, so it’s obvious that I like having them painted. What isn’t as obvious is the fact that I always paint them myself. I just can’t bring myself to part with the money to have a manicure and honestly I’m rough on my nails so the color has to be redone every 5 or so days. So to keep my hands looking nice I started doing manicures myself. I learned very early on that a good base coat is key to a good at-home manicure. My favorite is the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Base Coat. I find it helps smooth out the nail surface and seal my nails nicely for color. I also find that it makes it easier to remove color when I’m done because of the barrier between the nail and color that it creates.

You can get Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Base Coat for $7.99 at ulta.com.
