Like it or not there is no shortage of celebrity involvement in the cosmetics world these days. Fergie signed on with wet n wild to be one of their Beauty Ambassadors, making her the face of the cosmetics line for new marketing campaigns. And the first of her endeavors with them, a collection of nail polishes, is starting to pop up in stores. We hear that Tonight’s Gonna Be a Good Night (a clear polish with tiny flecks of black and larger gold hex glitter) is a killer glitter nail topper.

Lady Gaga created her own beauty buzz this week, as she broke the news to her tweeple that her new fragrance wouldn’t break their piggy banks. Lady Gaga Fame, the star’s first fragrance, will be available in September this year and will come in two different packagings. The more pared down of the two will be $30, while a heavier (and likely gaudier) bottle will be available for about $70. The back of the packaging for the fragrance says it’s scented with notes of “tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.”

RGB-Pink-Nail-Polish.jpgYou know how you can spend years searching for that one perfect pink nail polish? The one that looks just as amazing on your fingers as your toes, the one that looks good on every skin tone, the one that just makes people sit up and take notice of your nails? Well, I’m letting you in on a little secret—I’ve found it for you. It’s RGB Pink.

I’ve tried it on my fingers. I’ve tried it on my toes. I’ve tried it when I’m super pale. I’ve tried it when I’m super tan (well, super tan for me, which is still fairly pale). In any case, this is THE. BEST. PINK. NAIL. POLISH. AROUND.

Two coats yield the creamiest, prettiest, most opaque hot pink color. Plus, the formula is fantastic and lasts for at least a week with no chipping—more like three or four weeks on toes! Really, how could you not fall in love?

The-New-Black-Runway-Nail-Polish-Set.jpgOnce in awhile, we come across a product that’s so cool, we just have to buy it immediately. (Well, when we’re in Sephora, that seems to happen more than once in awhile.) In any case, that’s what happened when we discovered The New Black Runway Color Barometer 8-Piece Nail Polish Set.

For starters, this brand just creates such cool colors and sets. We want every single one! But the Runway set really spoke to us, because the 8 colors are just so unbelievably gorgeous.

The 8 colors here definitely span the color wheel. Red, orange, yellow, green, you name it, you’ll find it here. And they all come in fabulous names like Orange Crush and Mint Tea Shimmer. Each polish is chip-resistant, super glossy and opaque in 1-2 coats.

Plus, they’re all adorable minis—so we have a much better chance of actually finishing the bottles!

I am a huge fan of nail polish layering to make your own look, as evidenced by this post. And this week I made up what I call Spubble Gum Pink, using Essie Tennis Corset and Essie Forget Me Nots! The Spubble Gum Pink name comes from how perfectly bubblicious pink it is, mixed with the perfect dash sparkle. To create the color I did my usual base coat, followed by one even coat of Forget Me Nots — let that sit a couple minutes and then follow up with a coat of Tennis Corset to add the shimmery sheen. Lastly, don’t forget your top coat to seal it all in!

Best-Nude-Nail-Polishes.jpgSome people think nude nail polish is boring. And we suppose it can be, if it’s not done right. But in the case of these three nail polishes, we’d say they’re special enough to stand out in any crowd. Here’s why we love them so much.

butter LONDON All Hail The Queen
Originally called All Hail McQueen, in honor of Alexander McQueen, this beige polish changed its name but not its gorgeous, glittery, super holographic formula. It sparkles in the dark or the light, it glistens beautifully, and it certainly puts to shame the idea that nude is boring.

Deborah Lippmann Fashion
If creamy perfection exists in a bottle, this nail polish is it. Two coats render the perfect nude that’s somehow demure but sexy, understated but completely chic. And, yes, totally fashionable.

OPI Tickle My France-Y
This nail polish originally appeared in one of our favorite collections of all time: OPI’s France Collection from 2008. And it’s definitely stood the test of time, thanks to its beige meets mauve hue that changes in different lights and always, ALWAYS guarantees compliments.
