‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’
premiere took place this week and the red carpet was filled with beauties galore. Two of the girls, as usual, stole the show — Kirsten Stewart (pictured far left) with her beautiful cat eyes and Ashley Greene (pictured far right) with her bold red lips. Nikki Reed (pictured center) held her own by going for a more natural look.

Following Nikki’s cue and rounding out the natural look were Elizabeth Reaser (pictured far right) and Julia Jones (pictured center). While, Christian Serratos (pictured far left) went for a more dramatic look, breaking with her bookish character, Angela’s style.

And just when you thought the only actresses having any fun on the red carpet had deep dark, long locks, we find a pixie among two blondes. Casey LaBow (pictured far right) and MyAnna Buring went for daring, dark eye makeup to offset their lighter features. While Valorie Curry took a page from Alice Cullen’s style diary and let her pixie haircut, not her makeup, do the talking.

I, for one, am really looking forward to this movie’s release! Based on the premiere’s red carpet style I can’t wait to see what the wedding will look like.
jennifer-garner-11072011.jpgA beautiful and expecting Jennifer Garner attended an AFI premiere of her new movie ‘Butter’  this past week. But it wasn’t her drapey dress, strappy sandals, or barely there makeup that caught my eye — it was her nail polish. With her hand perfectly poised on her hip I saw flashes of gun metal grey with a bit of sparkle and became entranced.

I don’t know exactly which products she used to achieve this great color, but my nail color know-how tells me that this can certainly be copied at home. First you’ll need a great grey base polish, try OPI’s French Quarter for Your Thoughts or my personal fave, Essie’s Chinchilly. Next you need a sparkly top coat with a silver sheen to it, SEPHORA by OPI Flurry Up Top Coat or Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in In the Spotlight will work nicely. Start with a good coat or two of the grey base and then apply the sparkle. Try this trick with any of your fave fall colors and watch them sparkle on through the holiday season!
keira-knightley-10262011.jpgKeira Knightley hit the red carpet recently with her eye lashes in full effect. Every single lash, top and bottom was present and accounted for and decked out in mascara. The dramatic effect was stunning and reminded me that your lower lashes can make an impact, too.

The trick is to use the right mascara. This is where Clinique’s Bottom Lash Mascara comes in handy. The super small wand makes getting those pesky lower lashes a cinch and the look is high impact and super dramatic! Get Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara for $10 from Nordstrom.com.
Easy, free, flowing locks are all the rage on the red carpet as of late! We’ve been noticing tons of starlets letting their curls down and fly free in the wind—or, maybe not so free, since they’re sure to be using hairspray to keep every strand in place. But we’re totally in love with this new hair trend—it’s fun, it’s chic, and it has an elegance about it that we’re just dying to try ourselves.

Elizabeth-Hurley-Chloe-Moretz-Hailee-Steinfeld-Long-Curls.jpgHailee Steinfeld, Chloe Moretz and Elizabeth Hurley made the look a bit softer, with more waves instead of curls.

Kim-Kardashian-Khloe-Kardashian-Carmen-Electra-Long-Curls.jpgKim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Carmen Electra all went a bit more glam with larger curls and, we’re assuming, more extensions.
bangs-fall-2011.jpg
Bangs are the hottest hair accessory around, the question is always how low (or high) will you go! This past week, Mena Suvari, Nicole Richie and Eve popped up at red carpet events rocking various lengths of bangs. I prefer Eve’s long swept to the side bangs, but no matter your preference, there are many ways you can go about achieving this popular style.

There are several things to consider before running to your stylist and asking for bangs:
  • They take a while to grow back so choose carefully.
  • They require a bit of styling … I’m willing to bet Mena, Nicole and Eve’s stylists spent quite a bit of time with a brush and dryer to get them just right!
  • Bangs that hit at eye level can be a nuisance as they can fall in eyes easily.
My sage advice is simple, dare to change things up and just remember, it’s hair and it will always grow back.
