Bella Thorne has been enjoying the Disney star “It” girl life and I can’t help but wonder if she has taken her golden touch too far on this one. For a recent photo shoot Bella’s arches were full and shaded in shimmery gold — a trend that originated at the Dior Spring ‘14 fashion week show. It was her otherwise very minimally made up face that really made her eyebrows stand out. Given her strawberry blonde strands and fair complexion I felt like the gold eyebrows were just odd, but I can’t imagine them looking better on any other celebrity with darker hair or a darker complexion, either. Is this a trend that I’m missing out on? Would you try this at home, or better yet out and about?

It may be the subdued makeup paired with the bold lip, or the backdrop of the Fourth-Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, but something about Ashley Madekwe was just impeccably classic. Avon makeup artist, Lauren Anderson, was more than happy to share how she achieved this beautiful look.

First on the face she used YSL Touche Eclat Foundation as a base and layered on that with Laura Mercier bronzer on Ashley’s cheeks.  For the eyes Lauren looked to Avon True Color Eye Shadow Quad in Chocolate Sensation, using the #3 brown shade across the lid, and blended out at the crease. And she polished off Ashley’s peepers with Avon’s Mega Effects Mascara and Votre Vu Brow Wax. For the pièce de résistance, Lauren used Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Cherry Jubilee.

While walking the red carpet for ‘Gravity’ this past week, Emma Watson looked poised and mature and a large part had to do with her deep berry lip color — her out of this world outfit was a large contributor, too. The color is so fitting for fall and so incredibly striking on her face that I didn’t even realize how perfectly subtle her eye makeup was in contrast (at least, at first).

You can copy her matte, berrylicious color by trying one of these: Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Berry Berry ($15 at SaksFifthAvenue.com), Vincent Longo Demi-Matte Velour Lipstick in Putna Spice (lighter) or Gioelle Berry (bolder) ($23 at beauty.com) or Ulta Matte Lipstick in Basically Berry ($8 at ulta.com).

I am a really big fan of Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I think she nails her products and color palettes just right for the everyday woman. And, while she might introduce a bright berry color or deep red from time to time, her stuff is meant to be more contemporary and classic. Her brushes are some of the best in the industry and her Long Wear Gel Eyeliner is truly a beauty breakthrough in my opinion. But, when Bobbi Brown decided to team up with Katie Holmes on a new palette of colors, I was a tad skeptical … until I actually saw the palette. It’s such a versatile, perfectly coordinated combination of shadows and blushes that I immediately had to have it. With eight different eyeshadows, two different blushes and an eyeliner I was intrigued by the many look combinations this palette can achieve.

You can buy the Bobbi Brown Bobbi & Katie Palette for $68 on bobbibrowncosmetics.com. Right now Bobbi Brown is also offering a Travel Trio with any $50 order, plus free shipping, when you use offer code: FALLTRIO. And Gilt City National has an offer for a free $30 merchandise credit towards any purchase of $80 or more. So add in a lip color as a bonus, or  splurge and get a couple brushes.

While selfies run rampant on tumblr/instagram, these recent shares from Beyoncè, Demi Lovato, Snooki and Rihanna on their own personal social media accounts really caught my eye. And not because I had to have whatever lipstick or nail polish they were wearing — it was what they WEREN’T wearing that was the real story.

In, what I can only assume was, an attempt to show off their natural beauty, each of the these ladies posted a selfie in which they weren’t wearing any makeup. I applaud them for their bold choice and think each one of them looked so fresh-faced and beautiful. What do you think? Do you think they look better without makeup?
