Heidi-Klum-Shine.jpg
For some reason, the news this past week that Heidi Klum would be launching her own signature scent took us a little by surprise. We can’t really put on finger on why, but maybe it’s simply because we didn’t see it coming.

Previously working with Victoria’s Secret on a cosmetic line, and with New Balance for a fashion forward loungewear line, Ms. Klum is clearly no stranger to working with big named companies to launch products with her signature on it.

She will be working for Coty, Inc. (they own beauty brands such as Chloe, Chopard, Marc Jacobs and tons of other celeb fragrance lines), and launching her scent - named Heidi Klum Shine - in September of this year.

From the press release, Heidi says, “I am thrilled to be partnering with Coty on my new fragrance. Working for a long time on developing a signature scent and watching it finally come to life is so exciting. I never thought my nose would recover from sniffing so many scent combinations, but it is all worth it. I want my fragrance to be truly special and head-turning so that people ask the woman who’s wearing it ‘What are you wearing? You smell delicious’.”

Though we don’t normally get too excited for star-endorsed and developed scents, we’re kind of curious what Shine will smell like - sexy and sultry, perhaps? We look forward to seeing…err, smelling, in September.

Do you get excited about celebrity-developed scents, or do you place your trust in your designer favorites?
Golden-Globes-2.jpg
The 68th Annual Golden Globes was Sunday, but the beauty (and fashion) buzz around it is still being heard at full volume. Fashion trends were spotted all over the carpet (hello emerald dresses and pale pink gowns), but we’re here to gush about the glorious beauty.

The most memorable looks were understated, effortless and simple, yet sexy. Nude lips, light rouge, winged eyeliner and fluttering lashes were the stars of the night, as well as scarlet red pouts. Soft flowing waves, simple updos and girly side parts had our hearts all aflutter.

Piper Perabo and Mandy Moore (above) had very different looks, but still hit the beauty nail on the head. Piper’s teased crown sleek pony paired perfectly with her ruby lips and black top liner, while Mandy’s natural wavy locks and glowing face were sexy and not the least bit stuffy.

Equally as stunning were Claire Danes, January Jones, Michelle Williams and Megan Fox. Claire’s flirty lashes and loose, chic updo were so youthful and perfect, we’re itching to give the look a try on our next big night out. January’s old Hollywood flair couldn’t have suited her more, while Michelle’s adorable pixie cut (below) was tousled just right. Brunette beauty Megan Fox was stunning with her side swept ‘do, pearly pink mouth and lightly smokey eye.

While many received honorable mentions (including Kyra Sedgwick, Mila Kunis, and Olivia Wilde), there was just no beating these six gorgeous starlets.

What do you think? Which look do you want to steal for yourself?

This past week, one of our favorite California blondes, Lauren Conrad, showed up to the CoverGirl 50th Anniversary party as a brilliant brunette. Her honey-kissed, chocolatey strands appear to be a welcome change for the reality-star-turned-author, and we have to say that we love the change. Her green eyes pop and her skin glows. Bravo Ms. Conrad, consider us fans.

Also taking on a new hair hue was exotic beauty Khloe Kardashian. Debuting her bright, copper ‘do at the recent People’s Choice Awards, Mrs. Odom stood out from her raven haired sisters. It’s still growing on us, but it’s definitely not a thumbs down.

But one color swap we wish could be flopped is Emma Stone’s dark-red-to-blonde transformation. Though the platinum hue is closer to her natural hair color, we absolutely loved the darker coif on the Easy A starlet.

**What do you think? Do you think these celeb hair color swaps fly high, or fall flat?**

Last night, A-listers gathered at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles for the 2011 People’s Choice Awards. From the looks of many starlets we love (and love to hate), spring is just around the corner. Above all, chanteuses Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, along with reality buxom beauty Kim Kardashian, were shining bright (or in Kim’s case, brilliantly understated) with bold lip choices.

In her usual fashion, Taylor Swift was rocking her signature garnet pout. Our favorite look, however, goes to Mrs. Russell Brand. Though her bright fuchsia pink lips are not an easy look to pull off, she did it beautifully. Whether it’s the combination of her skin tone and hair color, or her perfectly balanced full, but not overdone, eyes, she looks like a dream.

Though Kim opted for a complete lack of color, her perfectly nude mouth still made a loud statement. Soft pink cheeks and insane lashes balanced her skin-toned pucker, leaving her looking sleek, polished, and girly.

As always, Taylor didn’t disappoint with her gorgeous winged black eyeliner and meticulously lined and applied scarlet lipstick. (Check out more red-lipped beauties, and get tips for how to get the perfect red lip here.)

Farrah-Fawcett-Hair.jpg

At the Golden Globe nominations this week, Katie Holmes was sporting a flirty, retro ‘do - an updated, nouveau version of Farrah Fawcett’s ever-popular hairdo. The full-bodied look, in our opinion, looks fantastically lovely, and would be a great topper for any holiday outfit. It’s polished, yet fun, flirty and sexy. Also, rocking the evergreen, sassy coif is princess-to-be Kate Middleton, and even Whitney Port has donned the look.

An easy way to get height and body to a heavily layered cut is by spraying your roots with a volumnizer, and drying your hair in 2-inch segments with a large barrel brush. To add that extra flip to your ends, finish them off with a big curling iron of at least 1.5 inches. Voila! Gorgeous, full hair.

What do you think of the retro look? Would you try it?
