Lindsey Vonn initially got our attention when she became the first American female to win an Olympic gold medal for downhill skiing. Lately she’s been gaining our attention on the red carpet with her boyfriend Tiger Woods. She’s been spotted at events like the Met Gala and most recently at the CFDA Fashion Awards for independent American designers, where we were surprised to find we had some serious eyebrow envy.

Vonn’s CFDA red carpet makeup look was created by ArtMix artist Hazuki Matsushita, who opted to draw attention to her eyes by emphasizing her eyebrows. Matsushita wanted a softer, yet defined shape for Vonn’s brows, so she used Tweezerman Slant Tweezers to develop more of an arch. Tweezerman Brow Mousse was applied to seal in the shape and then a soft, ashy eyebrow powder was used to create a lighter color on the brows.

For envy inducing brows at home, check out the Tweezerman Brow Rescue Kit, which includes Tweezerman slant tweezers, brow mousse, brow highlighter pencil, and a brow brush in a travel case.

You can’t ignore the trendy deep part that’s taking over red carpet hairstyles, and there’s been a resurgence of ponytails, too — Isla Fisher found a crafty way to merge them into one style. Her ponytail looks chic and stylish with her bangs swept into a deep part. Both trends are really easy to copy, the only trick to a deep part is using a styling product like a volumizing spritz or texturizer and blow dry hair while styling the bangs into the deep part. Use a light hairspray to help lock your locks in place.
Berenice Bejo: The French-Argentine actress was just was awarded Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival, but we have been big fans of her — and her amazing hair — since she starred as a lady in waiting in A Knight’s Tale. This milkmaid wrap-around braid harkens a bit back to her medieval hair in the film, though we prefer the modern take.

Nicole Kidman: After debuting not one but two intricate braids at Cannes Film Festival, the debate of whether braids are appropriate past a certain age has been answered with a very sophisticated sounding “Yes!”. Managing to create an elegant updo that is both flattering for her face in the front and even more impressive from the back, I have a feeling this look will be going on all of our Pinterest pages.

Tilda Swinton: Now, copying this look may not be for everyone. But you have to take a step back and appreciate the height she was able to achieve with her bouffant/mohawk hair and the grace she carries herself, and all of that hair, down the red carpet. Most impressive? Tilda Swinton manages to make over six inches of hair standing up straight on her hair look good.
Since hitting the red carpet in support of ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ Zoe Saldana has constantly painted her lips in bold, bright hues of red. In a behind-the-scenes video she was recently caught saying, “An item I cannot live without and that I’m always with is a red lipstick. I think every woman should find her right shade of red — An ideal red. Red is a very alive colour, it’s fire and it’s filled with passion, it helps you. It helps your spirit, it’s very present.”

Spotted on Zoe on May 14 (pictured far left) was Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Hollywood. The shade is certainly bold and bright and Laura Mercier’s site describes it as just simply “red” — I guess no other descriptor is needed. Then, on May 20 she stepped out in Cannes for the premiere of ‘Blood Ties’ (pictured far right) in what appears to be that same shade of Hollywood red. But during a photocall for the same movie, on the same day in Cannes, (pictured center) she seems to have opted for a more pink hue — possibly Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach. No matter the color, it’s clear that Zoe truly does prefer bold lipsticks.

You can get Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour ($26) in Hollywood, Palm Beach or 31 other hues at
With a very successful award season under her belt, it seems to been Jennifer Lawrence’s hair that has been taking center stage lately. After cutting her long hair to a shoulder-length bob (the J. Lob if you will) about a month ago, the new look has given the actress a chance to show that fun “trip while getting an Oscar” side that we all seem to love about her.

This weekend took J. Lob to the French Riviera both literally and figuratively with her tousled beachy waves at the premiere of “Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian” at Cannes Film Festival. J. Law’s bright lip color and bronzed cheeks finished off this perfectly polished beach look that we’re totally stealing for upcoming summer parties.
