When I first discovered Yes to Grapefruit Even Skintone Moisturizer, I was sure I had found the perfect moisturizer. Then fall hit and as the temps have plummeted, my complexion has become ruddier and ruddier. So when I found Yes to Grapefruit Correct and Repair CC Cream I knew I had the perfect moisturizer for my pale and dry skin. This cream nicely balances out my skin tone while adding the right amount of moisture. While I found the skin perfecting qualities of the generic daily moisturizer to be just what I needed — this CC cream will help keep me balanced for the next couple months.

You can buy Yes to Grapefruit Correct and Repair CC Cream for $15.99 at walgreens.com.

The best way to keep your hands in tip top shop during the long, cold winter season is to start with cuticles. If you keep your cuticles appropriately moisturized you’ll immediately notice an overall improvement in the appearance of your nails — not to mention your fingertips won’t feel sore from cracked skin. My favorite cuticle fix is Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil. With just a little dab on each nail around the fingerbed it will start to seep in to skin and you’ll see quick healing results.

You can buy Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil for $8.50 at macys.com.

Once the seasons change from warm to cold, skin immediately becomes dry and flaky. A thick moisturizer will temporarily help with the top layer of your skin, but it won’t properly hydrate and repair dry skin with lasting effects. Your best bet to prevent flaky skin—especially on the area that seems to suffer the most, your legs—is to use a body lotion that utilizes gentle acids. A lotion that has an alpha-hydroxy acid will not only moisturize your skin, but will help exfoliate and counteract the rough patches.

The Amlactin Alpha Hydroxy Therapy Moisturizing Body Lotion ($15.99) is a smooth moisturizer that you can feel working after it’s applied and doesn’t have a thick residue that some other deep moisturizing lotions have. The best part? It is available at your local drugstore and won’t cost a lot of money.

I have really tried to limit the amount of makeup — specifically eye makeup — I wear on average. But even on my barest of bare makeup days, Sue Devitt’s Electric Sheen Eyeshadow in Esna does the trick. It’s a beautiful shimmery ivory that doesn’t wash out my eyes but instead offers a nice light sheen that’s barely there but also perfectly noticeable. How is that? Well the light ivory has more of a soft buttery-yellow than white to it, so it’s not garishly white and really adds a little depth to my lids.

You can buy Sue Devitt Electric Sheen Eyeshadow in Esna for $18 at barneys.com.

No matter how hard I’ve tried to make sure I scrub and clean my face at night, it’s a routine that just does not stick no matter how hard I try, so I decided to try to find a way to make this as simple as possible with just one step: the Simple Radiance Cleansing Wipes ($5.99). The wipes are a perfect blend of gentle cleanser and mango extract to help scrub and remove impurities for natural, clean-looking skin. One of the best parts about this brand is they pride themselves on being the “Sensitive Skin Experts,” so there is no need to worry about bad reactions. The wipes contain three ingredients: mango extract, glycerin and bisabolol. There is no alcohol, which means these won’t leave your skin dried out or irritated. Honestly, if you’re having a hard time getting into the habit or really cleansing your face before bed, pick these up and just wipe your face thoroughly and you will get rid of all that dirt. Added bonus: because the package is resealable, you can keep them in a nightstand and clean your face right in bed, for after those really long days or nights!
