January 2010 Archives

Many looks caught our eyes at this year’s Golden Globe awards. From hair in everything from loose waves to simple updos and makeup that enhanced each stars natural beauty, these looks were not only our favorites, but will also be the inspiration for the spring season ahead.

kate_hudson_goldenglobes2010.jpgKate Hudson’s classic updo was simply OK, but her makeup was fabulous. Black-rimmed eyes, bronze cheeks and pretty peach lips were a flawless compliment to her amazing white gown.

christina_aguilera.jpgChristina Aguilera was a stunner with her sleek bob and glowing skin. Her smoky grey eye makeup enhanced her blue eyes gorgeously and the look was completed with a glossy pink lip.

Julia Roberts knows how to rock the loose waves. And we, of course, love them on her. The newly appointed Lancome spokeswoman flashed her beloved smile and reminded us why we love seeing her on the red carpet.

Zoe Saldana kept her makeup in the same color family as her gown without actually matching it. We love the sheer wash of mauve on her cheeks and kohl-rimmed eyes.

Lea Michele absolutely wowed us with her glamorous, yet understated, look that was all about lashes, lashes, and more lashes.

helen_mirren_goldenglobes2010.bmpWith glossy pink lips and her hair in volumized waves, Helen Mirren was the picture of timeless and glamorous beauty.

Drew Barrymore couldn’t have looked better Sunday night. Her simple updo was the best complement for her gorgeous, glowing skin, enhanced with a subtle smoky eye and red lipstick.

Anna_Kendrick_goldenglobes2010.jpg

Newcomer Anna Kendrick grabbed our attention with her soft, romantic look. We loved the loose tendrils falling from her loose updo and her full lashes really stood out against the light eyeshadow, making her eyes pop. Shimmery pink gloss added a pretty finishing touch.

With a playful hairstyle, glowing skin and smoldering eye makeup, we couldn’t help but love Jessica Alba’s look at the People’s Choice Awards.

To achieve a more piecey look after curling Jessica’s hair, stylist Renato Campora applied FEKKAI COIFF Nonchalant Piecing & Forming Wax ($23, beauty.com) on the ends, adding texture and creating a more tousled look.

In the crisp chill of winter, keeping skin moisturized is top priority for us. St. Ives Luxurious Whipped Silk Body Wash ($3.99 for 18 fl oz., drugstore.com) is one we love using these days— it’s wallet-friendly and yet still gives us the lavish lather with natural moisturizing ingredients we might find in a pricer brand. Take that dry skin!

It’s a new year (2010, can you believe it?), full of possibilities and positive expectations. Why not take a little time to discover a new, fun scent? The following are a handful of floral-infused scents that we are loving and think you may want to try on for size in 2010.
