Tarte Lip Stains.jpg
We’ve been a fan of Tarte Cosmetics for a few years now, especially their coveted cheek stains. Which is reason enough to have been excited to hear that this natural makeup company recently released their Lipsurgence Natural Lip Stain

It’s no secret that lip stains tend to be a bit drying. You put them on, and they instantly parch your lips, making a moisturizing lip balm an essential partner product. Tarte’s Lipsurgence stains claim to increase your lip’s moisture level by 6,000 percent in 28 days, and though there really is no way we could have quantified those numbers ourselves, we no doubt appreciated the soft, moisturizing effect achieved by this product.

We loved how the stain just glided right on in sheer layers, which could be built upon depending on how deep we wanted the color (we found the perfect shade by applying two layers, and blotting). The infused peppermint oil was a pleasant surprise, and had a great cooling effect. We tested Joy (peach), Lust (red), and Enchanted (rosey pink). Enchanted worked best with our tan skin tone for every day use, though we could definitely see ourselves playing up the Lust for a saucy night out.

Though we’ve used lip stains that have lasted longer, the most impressive part of Tarte’s Lipsurgence Natural Lip Stain is the “natural” part. It’s formulated without parabens, mineral oil, sodium laurel sulfate, glutens, talc, dyes, synthetic fragrances or phthalates. The price tag may be a bit steep compared to drugstore varieties, but a little goes very far, making the MSRP more than worth it in the long run.

christina-ricci-02-300x400.jpgOn Wednesday, Christina Ricci debuted a new, softer style at a Blackberry Torch launch party. Ricci, who famously played Wednesday Adams in the big screen adaptation of The Adams Family, is best known for wearing a severe, dark style similar to her movie character… but is certainly no stranger to experimentation; the actress has dabbled in hues from buttery blonde to cherry red in the past.

Her new style, a gorgeous caramel auburn with varying levels of tonality, sets off her golden skin and makes her eyes pop. The actress also chopped off much of her length, taking her chest length hair up to the nape of her neck.

Definitely an upgrade in our book, although Ricci could probably pull off anything.

What do you think of Christina’s new look?

Celebrity editorial stylist Mark Townsend created a full, voluminous, summery hair look for Lea Michele. “Lea wanted to look modern and sexy and this bold style, with lots of volume and texture, was perfect for the Teen Choice Awards,” said Townsend.

Here’s how to get Lea Michele’s look:

· Shampoo and condition with Dove Damage Therapy Volume Boost Shampoo and Conditioner the night before to leave hair looking healthy and full of body

·  Distribute Dove Body & Lift Volumizing Mousse throughout and blow dry hair with round brush to add lift

· Divide hair into 5 sections: 1 top, 2 sides, 2 back

· Apply Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist to individual sections immediately before applying curling iron to protect hair against heat styling damage

· Starting with the back section, use a double barrel curling iron on 3 inch sections of hair, letting the curled pieces fall and hair cool without pinning

· Continue to curl the entire head using the double barreled iron to create figure-eight style waves

·  Warm a pea-sized amount of Dove Frizz Control Therapy Taming Cream between the palms of hands.  Rake fingers through hair to distribute product evenly for shiny, beachy texture.

·  Flip head upside down to slightly loosen up the look and spray Dove Unscented Extra Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement throughout.

Lauren Conrad gray nails.jpg
Last Fall, Chanel teased fashionistas and lacquer junkies with peaks at its new shade: Particuliere. It caused frenzies, really, it did. The dove, taupey gray nail trend sailed into spring effortlessly shortly after. Now, as the trend continues into fall 2010, it has evolved into a cooler, heather gray.

Starlets such as Lauren Conrad (above), Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Szohr and Sienna Miller have been sporting the cement and smoke hues as of late. This neutral may not sound uber exciting at first mention, but trust us, it’s the perfect complement to all the whites and brights you’ll be squeezing out of your summer wardrobe in the next few weeks, as well as the richer, darker shades that perpetuate fall fashions.

Look for steely shades (we love any with slight purple undertones), that are glossy. Or pair this trend with the metallic trend to get the best of both worlds.

sampar good weelned 1.jpgSpecially developed for travel, Sampar’s Bon Weekend Kit contains all five of the essential products in Sampar’s luxe skincare line, allowing you to continue with your Sampar routine while away from home. Easily slipped into an overnight bag or purse, the kit contains:

2 bottles of Velvet Cleansing Milk - a hydrating, soft cleanser with lime blossom and rosewater.

Equalizing Foam Peel - essential oils and AHAs to remove dead skin cells.

Ultra Hydrating Fluid- hydrating moisturizer.

Nocturnal Lifting Mask - this one is tricky. This “mask” is actually an overnight moisturizer that firms, reduces lines and plumps with” 95 % active ingredients”. Rinse off in the AM.

All of the products pack a major punch in the way of beautiful skin, but our favorites were the Equalizing Foam and the Nocturnal Mask. Baby soft skin, no joke. Our skin has never looked brighter or more smooth. It’s like a facial in a little kit!

The set is perfect for on the go, and the products smell divine. The rose scent of the hydrating moisturizer may be addicting. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
