While doing the usual whirlwind press stuff to promote her new (and much buzzed about) TV show, ‘The Carrie Diaries’, AnnaSophia Robb stopped by L’Occitane en Provence. Judging by some of the great stuff she left with, like the Shea Butter Hand Cream, Almond Shower Supple Skin Oil, Shea Butter Ultra-Rich Body Cream, and Lavender Foaming Bath, I’m guessing she was looking for a little reprieve from the blustery, freezing temps in NYC, as well as the stress of preparing for the launch of a new, much-hyped, TV show. AnnaSophia Robb will be playing the younger version of fashion’s beloved TV character, Carrie Bradshaw. While everyone is chattering about her role and the show, some of us can’t help but wonder if this “mini” Carrie will have the same impact on style as her predecessor did — what do you think?

L'Occitane-Bonne-Mere-Gentle-Cream.jpgA cream that’s equally as nourishing for face, body and hands. Could it be done, you may wonder? Well, the answer is yes, if the product is L’Occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Cream.

White mallow milk makes this cream moisturize the skin instantly. At first smell, it does seem a bit overpowering—but, with continued use, it actually starts to smell pretty darn good. Plus, it sinks right into the skin.

We’ve been using it mainly for our hands, which is great in these brisk winter temperatures. They’re left feeling perfectly smooth.

L’Occitane Bonne Mere Gentle Cream retails for $22 at loccitane.com.

With my delicate, sensitive, often dry, fair skin I can have a heck of a time finding the right moisturizer. Add to all that my skin’s reaction to sulfates and I swear I find myself spending more time reading labels then actually caring for my skin. In my quest I stumbled upon a great moisturizer from mark, their See Things Clearly Brightening Moisturizer.

They describe their formula as, “Mulberry, molassesand licorice combine for a unique brightening complex that, with the help of antioxident-rich lotus flowerworks to improve skin clarity.” In basic beauty speak this means it aims to revive skin and restore radiance with a brilliantly formulated mix of super fruits and super foods.  I don’t know about you, but one of the most depressing parts about winter for me is how dull and lifeless it can leave my skin, especially my face after braving the cold, brutal winds. And from my experience the past several months, I can say this moisturizer does all it sets out to do — My skin is soft, moisturized, and brighter, and as a bonus, I feel like my skin tone is more even! And, I have to give mark credit for their ingenious packaging. While it takes a little bit more effort to get the product going through the dispenser at first use, because of the kind of pump they use, your products will have a longer shelf life.

You can buy mark See Things Clearly Brightening Moisturizer for $10 at meetmark.com.
MAC-Paint-Pot.jpgYou know those beauty products that have been in your arsenal for so long, you almost forget how truly amazing they are and how much they should be shouted from the rooftops? The products that are basically the cornerstone of your makeup looks? Well, that’s how I feel about MAC Paint Pots.

These unassuming little jars are filled with stunning, in-your-face colors that are just dying to be noticed. I love that MAC creates limited edition Paint Pots for various collections (although then it makes me sad when I get all the way to the bottom of the tub and there’s no finding the color again). I love that the color is richly pigmented and stays on all night without creasing, even if I’m dancing up a storm in a hot club. And I love that the colors work as both a primer and shadow, so you can wear them alone or layer other shadows on top of them with—you guessed it—still no creasing, smudging or fading!

Paint Pots are just one of those miraculous products that I can’t live without, and I honestly can’t believe it’s taken me this long to sing their praises for you!

Find all of the colors of MAC Paint Pots for $18.50 each at maccosmetics.com.
Eye-Gels-Image.jpgOn a recent perusal of the skincare section at Sephora, one type of product kept popping up: eye gels. It seems like such an obvious skincare must-have, and yet, for some reason, we never had any in our arsenal until now! Below, the ones we recommend you check out immediately (if not sooner).

Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel
First of all, it’s blue, which we just think is fun and different. But what we really love? It’s extremely cooling (and not just the second you apply, but for a long while afterward), and it has the consistency of a cream. It’s just a bonus that it perks up our tired eyes in no time.

Philosophy Eyes Wide Open
This unassuming little while tube packs a major punch. It smooths and depuffs skin instantly, not to mention it has a delightful cooling quality.

Bliss Baggage Handler Eye Gel
We love every Bliss product just for the names alone! And this one definitely does what it says—it makes all that under-eye baggage just disappear, thanks to cucumber extract and algae extract! Especially great for long flights.
$28 at blissworld.com

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel
The name alone makes you know it’s going to make your under-eye area look and feel its best, wouldn’t you agree? Plus, it smells like refreshing cucumbers and has an innovative pump design.
$14.99 at zappos.com

The Art of Shaving Eye Gel
The chamomile scent is utterly relaxing, which makes this perfect right before bed (why not get the under-eye bags under control while you’re getting your beauty rest, right?).
$28 at barneys.com

Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue
Definitely the most science project-like of the bunch! This eye gel is formulated with Co-Q-10 in the appearance of caviar-like beads, which smooth into the skin upon impact and protect the eye area from aging.
