tswift.jpgTaylor Swift is infamous for two things: her long, blond mane and stealing your celebrity crush (sigh, Jake Gyllenhaal). Revenge has long been in order and now is the chance to get even with a little stealing of our own. Swift’s red carpet worthy ponytail at the Academy of Country Music Awards is versatile, on trend for spring, and best of all easy to copy on your own. This sleek ponytail easily goes from an average day at the office to a crazy night on the town and only takes a few tools you probably already own: styling lotion (a favorite: Living Proof’s styling cream), a blow dryer, and a flatiron. To fully commit to the T. Swift style, a clip-on bang is an optional but encouraged addition.

How to steal the style:
  • Apply styling cream to damp hair and blow dry with a flat brush.
  • Section and flatiron hair until your desired level of straight and sleek has been achieved.
  • Carefully brush hair up into a ponytail, ensuring all bumps are smoothed out.
  • Optional: Apply clip-on bang.
  • For extra shine and to tame flyaways, finish the look with a high gloss spray, like Ojon’s Color Sustain gloss spray.
Several weeks ago I rounded up my favorite nail trends for this spring. Then I saw… these! One of the ingenious originators of the magnetic nail polish trend, nails inc., just rolled out what they call their Feathers Effect Nail Polish. They come in four beautiful, almost marble-ized shades, that have tiny feather-like particles that show up beautifully in each coat of polish. Not only do they have that cool feather thing going for them, but they come in killer shades like York (pastel peach and white) and Brighton (teal and yellow). So let your rubber textured nails fly south for the summer and bring on these bold birds of prey!

With the launch of NARS satin lip pencils in 13 shades, nailing a bold, matte lip this spring just became a whole lot easier. With  “high impact, intense color” and “convenient, easy and precise application”, the satin lip pencil comes in a variety of shades from dramatic red to subtle nude. The lip pencil tends to fall in between a lipstick and a lip stain, providing more color pay off than most lipsticks and lip glosses and a large tip for quick application. With wedding season approaching, I know I’ll be bringing this warm weatherproof matte lip magic wherever I go to keep my bold lip fresh.

The gorgeous Georgia May Jagger (daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall) stars in a sexy new video campaign for the launch of the Just Cavalli For Her fragrance. The 19-year-old model romps around in a bra and python-printed jeans with a tall, dark and handsome friend — giving us the first clue what to expect from the sexy new perfume.

Fresh, intense and alluring, Just Cavalli For Her is a creamy, sexy floral that opens with a top note of Neroli, an essential oil produced from blossoms of the bitter orange tree. The fragrance is followed by a heart note of the precious Tahitian Tiare flower and grounded by a creamy palissander wood accord that adds power and nobility.

Known for bold colors and innovative products, Inglot Cosmetics will add ten pastel nail enamels to their collection of over 240 nail colors. Inglot’s twist on the pastel trend was created in collaboration with makeup artists and color consultants to ensure colors are fashionista worthy. The results are a creative spring nail polish line that ranges from subtle oranges and purples to bright blues and even (our favorite) turquoise. Inglot’s nail enamels are free of the chemicals toulene, formaldehyde, DBP and camphor, making them free of the toxins some popular nail polishes contain. Each bottle retails for $10 and is available through or in an Inglot retail store near you.
